Obamanomics - Sarah Palin has a better plan!

I ask people to remember how the housing crisis got started because it was the beginning of the current economic crisis.  It was started by the Congress and ACORN forcing banks to make risky loans to people who could not afford them. The Congressional interference with lending risk and encouraging bad lending practices resulted in an artificial demand for housing that could not be sustained, the housing bubble.  Congress did not realize the consequences of their actions and look at the result.  Cash for clunkers is a good example of Congress not having any idea about the predictable consequences of their actions.   Congress created an artificial market without thinking. They just want votes and are willing to bride voters and the consequences be damned!  Unbelievably, there are some who would have this group of self-serving fools in charge of our health care.

Warning over US cash-for-clunkers scheme

The popular US cash-for-clunkers programme may be drawing money from other consumer purchases and could also undermine future car sales, US economists have warned.

Motor vehicle and parts sales, down 8 per cent on the year, jumped 2.4 per cent from June, according to data from the US commerce department on Thursday, but other retail sales fell 0.6 per cent in July. …Continue Reading

Honduras charges Zelaya supporters with sedition

By KATHIA MARTINEZ,Associated Press Writer – Saturday, August 15

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – Two dozen supporters of Honduras’ ousted president were charged with sedition Friday in an intensifying crackdown on protests against the coup-installed government.

Protests to demand the return of ousted President Manuel Zelaya turned violent in the Honduran capital this week, with police firing tear gas and demonstrators fighting back with sticks and stones. Some protesters attacked the vice president of Congress, although he wasn’t injured.

Some 24 demonstrators were charged with sedition and damaging private property, said Melvin Duarte, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor’s office. Another four were charged with aggravated arson and terrorism in the burning of a bus and a restaurant.

Interim President Roberto Micheletti condemned the clashes as “violent and terrorist” and vowed his government would no longer tolerate street blockades and other disruptions.

Zelaya, a timber magnate who veered to the left midway through his presidency, was ousted by the army June 28 and flown out of the country.

Micheletti, the former congressional president chosen by lawmakers to replace Zelaya, has refused to consider reinstating the ousted leader despite worldwide condemnation and the suspension of millions of dollars in U.S. and European development aid.

Micheletti insists Zelaya was legally removed from office through a congressional vote for defying court orders to drop plans for referendum asking voters if they would support rewriting the constitution.

Zelaya’s opponents accuse him of seeking to extend his term in office by removing a constitutional ban on presidential re-election, as his ally Hugo Chavez has done in Venezuela….Continue Reading

We are family and we get to choose who's we! Chibama Politics

I fully expect censorship to be the order of the day and every day in the Obama Administration. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and others in the Democratic leadership have in the past talked a good game regarding free speech.  But when the speech in Town halls across America is critical of Obama’s policies, they are the first to ridicule and call for censorship. Thank you Atlas Shrugs for standing guard against injustice!

FREE SPEECH ALERT: Police Interrogate “Suspect” in Obama ‘Joker’ posters

In a violent breech of American’s right to free speech, law enforcement seek to impose criminal penalties on free expression. In my article at The American Thinker, “Now Being American Is Un-American”, I quoted Rand, “The principle of free speech is not concerned with the content of a man’s speech and does not protect only the expression of good ideas, but all ideas. If it were otherwise, who would determine which ideas are good and where forbidden? The government?”

“Once a country accepts censorship of the press and of speech, then nothing can be won without violence. Therefore, so long as you have free speech, protect it. This is the life-and-death issue in this country: do not give up the freedom of the press — of newspapers, books, magazines, radio, movies, and other forms of presenting ideas. So long as that’s free, a peaceful intellectual turn is possible.”

Natan Sharansky in his book, The Case for Democracy, set out by dividing the world between “free” and “fear” societies. Then employed a simple test to discern a free society from a society based on fear: Can one enter a public square and express any opinion without fear of being arrested? If not, one is in a society that runs on fear. We have, my dear fellow Americans, entered the realm of a society of fear.

The first sign not depicting Barack Hussein Obama as the messiah is a crime. But this isn’t.

Glenn Beck Advertisers Being Bullied by Obama Thug Czar – Companies NAMED

Glenn Beck Advertisers in the crosshairs

Michelle Oddis at Human Events is reporting…

A racially charged activist group called “Color of Change” founded by Van Jones, a special advisor to the Obama Administration, is trying to silence popular radio and Fox News personality Glenn Beck by calling for a boycott of Beck’s TV advertisers.

On July 28th, Beck made a comment on the Fox & Friends morning show about Obama’s reaction to the arrest of Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. During the discussion of “Professor-Gate,” Beck connected the President’s past association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Obama’s comment that Cambridge police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, acted stupidly. Though Beck acknowledged most of the Obama administration is in fact white, he concluded that the President’s world experience made him a “racist.”

Now “Color of Change” has bullied at least five of Beck’s big advertisers — SC Johnson, Progressive Insurance, Geico, Procter & Gamble and Nexus Lexis — to pull their ads from Beck’s national cable program. Jones, the founder of “Color of Change,” was named Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality — a key administrative post — this past March….Continue Reading
