Larry Sinclair and the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree of Change We Can Believe In.

Larry Sinclair was freed early this evening and he is back and he is not going away. As Americans, we all need the answers to the questions surrounding Mr. Sinclair arrest.

Questions about:

Given that many influential politicians and media people knew with reasonable certainty what Mr. Sinclair was likely to say before the National Press Club and fully realized that the allegations that he and Sen. Barrack Obama engaged in the illegal use of cocaine and consensual gay sex in 1999 would be politically damaging to the Senator, were any legal processes encouraged to be bent, relaxed, expanded, manipulated, or bastardized in relation to the issuance of Mr. Sinclair’s arrest warrant, its timing of execution or location of execution?

Was there any improper official governmental action involved regarding the issuance of the arrest warrant or the timing of its execution? Reliable sources say that in January of 2008, a criminal records check was conducted for Mr. Sinclair and no active warrants came back on the report.

Was there a preexisting arrest warrant?

What was the Attorney General of Delaware’s role in the issuance, timing, or execution of the arrest warrant for Mr. Larry Sinclair?

Did the fact that the Attorney General’s father Senator Joe Biden is speculated to be a leading candidate for Sen. Obama’s VP have anything to do with Mr. Sinclair’s arrest?

Would any other active arrest warrant in Delaware with similar facts been executed in this manner?

Given that the manner of execution of this arrest warrant against Larry Sinclair appeared to be intentionally and meticulously calculated to infringe upon Mr. Sinclair’s ability to exercise his rights of free speech; and further attempted to discredit the weight of his statements before the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. by an unnecessary and unwarranted public arrest – who was directly and indirectly involved in this possible abuse of Delaware’s and Washington, D.C.’s judicial and legal processes?

Why was Mr. Sinclair held for such a long time?

Was he in effect being held as a political prisoner?

These and many other questions must be answered about this highly suspect exercise of political theater masquerading as a legitimate legal process!

I leave you with this quote,

No one can terrorize a whole nation, unless we are all his accomplices.
Edward R. Murrow

Mr. Sinclair has recounted this seemingly malicious arrest on his blog.

Sylvia Smith Says Liberal Bloggers Did Sinclair A Favor

“Sylvia Smith, Washington correspondent for the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette and president of the National Press Club, used a recent column to defend the NPC’s decision to allow Larry Sinclair to rent NPC space for a press conference at which he detailed his sex and drug allegations against Sen. Barack Obama. Smith blasted liberal bloggers for their disregard of the First Amendment:”

“So all the protesting of Sinclair’s right to free speech by the liberal bloggers totally backfired and actually brought more attention to him than if he paid a PR firm $150,000 to get his story out Smith tells us. Meanwhile, I doubt Sinclair feels the same way about the liberal bloggers doing him a big favor. Sinclair, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest in the state of Delaware immediately following the press conference last week, has been freed from jail, at least for now. Sinclair laments the fact that he was held in a D.C. jail for four straight days and denied access to his prescription drugs and medical treatment while awaiting an opportunity to learn what the Delaware charges were all about. After being picked up by Delaware police on Monday and taken before a judge there, Sinclair still doesn’t know what the charges are all about. Sinclair explains why he believes he was improperly taken into custody and held for this extended period:”

“Perhaps more troubling is a claim by Sinclair that federal agents had identified a D.C. man who threatened to kill him, his attorney and his mother but told Sinclair no charges would be brought against the man and declined to identify the man to Sinclair. Bloggers who support Sinclair are already raising questions about the role of Delaware Attorney General Joe Biden, III in what they believe to be trumped up charges against Sinclair. He is the son of Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE). As I reported earlier, two pro-Obama bloggers in Paris, France took credit for contacting the officials in Delaware and D.C. to arrange for Sinclair’s arrest last week.”

(June 24, 2008) Another Gay Hillary Supporter Against Obama
Posted by GayPatriotWest at 7:05 pm – June 24, 2008.

It seems now that not a day goes past without my learning of yet another gay Hillary Supporter ill at ease with his party’s presumptive presidential nominee. This trend of gay Democrats opposed to Obama seems has become a national phenomenon.

A reader just alerted me to a Washington Blade article reporting that one of the organizers of the grassroots anti-Obama group Party Unity, My Ass is a gay man.

Will Bower, a D.C.-based a Huffington Post columnist “who strongly supported Sen. Hillary Clinton during the primary and remains a registered Democrat” believes “Barack Obama is an anti-democratically chosen candidate.” Like many disgruntled Democrats, he is currently “planning to vote for McCain.”

May this trend continue. And given Obama’s recent arrogant antics, it looks like it will.

Will Bower called Sinclair’s story “worth exploring.”

Sinclair arrested, and other notes from the Press Club

A footnote to the story of Larry Sinclair, the gadfly whose long criminal record I wrote about this morning: He was arrested by Washington, D.C., police after his press conference there today, two officials at D.C.’s First District station confirmed to Politico.

Sinclair is wanted in Colorado on theft and forgery charges, but police officials I spoke to wouldn’t discuss the charges. Reason’s David Weigel first reported the arrest.

Avi swung by Sinclair’s press conference at the National Press Club today, an utterly strange scene in which the highlight came from Sinclair’s spokesman. Montgomery Blair Sibley, whose law license has been suspended, explained why he was wearing a kilt by saying that it was more comfortable for “those of us on the other side of the genital spectrum.”

At the Press Club, Avi also ran into Will Bower, a sometimes-Huffington Post blogger who founded “Party Unity, My Ass” — a group for die-hard Clinton supporters that are now backing McCain — and was invited by the McCain campaign last weekend to meet with the presumptive Republican nominee, and called Sinclair’s story “worth exploring.”

“I don’t think he should be written off without consideration,” he said when asked about Sinclair. “I think it’s worth exploring.”
