No person Except a Natural Born Citizen - Lt. Col. Lakin Remains a Political Prisoner

An Open Letter to Representatives in Georgia Regarding GA HB401 Presidential Eligibility

Dear Representatives of Georgia:

This morning I was thinking about the courageous actions of Lt. Col. Lakin, my service in the Navy in the 70’s, and the men and women currently serving in the United States Military.  Naturally, this led to the many questions regarding Obama’s refusal to voluntarily provide sufficient documentation to establish his eligibility to serve as President and Commander-In Chief.

Regardless of what I was thinking or believe today, the main reason Obama should rush as fast as he can to provide every document, timeline, explanation, birth certificate, etc., – whatever is needed – is to prevent possible damage to the memory of those serving bravely today!  No one wants historians to decide to attach an asterisk whenever they discuss the service of those in today’s United States military!

The last two posts by Mario Apuzzo, Esq. have been urging support for the GA HB401 Presidential Eligibility proof bill and for it to be effective for the 2012 Presidential election cycle.

I join Mr. Apuzzo and urge support for this bill and for it to be effective for the 2012 election.  It is past time to end this ‘end round’ the Constitution.

It is clear that many millions of Americans are losing faith in their government, judicial system and this “President” because of this issue.  Everything points to a lack of ethics, principles, and courage on the part of politicians and judges. I expected this from politicians but (as a former Criminal Defense Attorney) it hurt to see the judiciary fail in their duty to defend the Constitution for political reasons.  I pray you support this effort for transparency and support of the rule of law.

Doing nothing to correct injustice, or putting action off to a time when not so much scrutiny might come, is not reflective of courage or principles.  Many have already put asterisks on the service of many of today’s politicians; but thankfully, such cynicism has not attached to those serving in the military.

However, several important questions could exist today in the minds of many in the military because of failures of those sworn uphold the Constitution in the civilian world.

Has my military service been tarnished by Obama’s lack of transparency regarding is eligibility to be Commander In Chief? What do older Veterans think of my service? Are my friends, family, and veterans putting an asterisk on my military service?

Could the following changes to one of the most important documents given to servicemen or women at the end of their service become a possibility in the future?  (In reality- or merely in the minds of many ordinary Americans?)

Suggestion -

Because of the existence of a strong likelihood that Obama is not eligible to serve as President, the following is instruction is suggested for inclusion in the military’s DD-214 manual.

The Character of Service for all DD-214 forms issued for service from January 19, 2009 to January 19, 2013 will only read:

  • Honorable But* – This Particular Military Personnel served while Obama occupied the position of Commander-In-Chief.  This period of service is tarnished because there is a strong and reasonable suspicion that said Obama is/was not eligible to serve in that position – but the Joint Chiefs, Senior Officers, Junior Officers, Senior Enlisted Personnel, and the Judge Advocate Generals Corps did nothing to insure the honor of America’s military.
  • Under Honorable Conditions But* – See Honorable But*
  • Under Other than Honorable Conditions But* – See Honorable But*
  • Bad Conduct But* – See Honorable But*
  • Dishonorable But* – See Honorable But*
  • Uncharacterized But* – This particular Military Personnel served while Obama occupied the position of Commander-In-Chief.  This period of service is tarnished because there is a strong and reasonable suspicion that said Obama is/was not eligible to serve in that position but the Joint Chiefs, Flag Officers, Junior Officers, Senior Enlisted Personnel, and the Judge Advocate Generals Corps did nothing to insure the honor of America’s military. (Note: This designation is appropriate if the person completing the DD-214 feels terms such as Honorable, Bad Conduct, Dishonorable don’t apply because of the likelihood of that all military were following ‘unlawful orders’.)

The main question is why does Obama continue to hide his records that might establish he is a ‘natural born citizen’? Why does he continue to withhold documents that establish he was born in the U.S. to parents (2) who were U.S. citizens at the time of his birth? Why not do it for the military in the trenches?

(Readers: Time is of the essence if you would like to add your voices, especially those serving, because the decisions could come this Wednesday.)

Commentary –

Obama's failure to be transparent about his possible lack of eligibility is tarnishing the currently serving military personnel's service! Will there be an update to the DD-214?

In support of Lt. Col. Lakin’s courage in seeking the ‘Truth’ (and as a former In-Flight Tech in the Navy), I urge all who have served or have friends/family in the military to ask the following question of those currently serving.

Brothers and Sisters in the Military, when are you going to demand Obama establish that he is a Natural Born Citizen, eligible to serve as Commander In Chief?

The military is the only government organization that I continue to have respect for and it pains me criticize those serving.  And I understand the consequences of challenging Obama’s eligibility directly, but the continuing attacks against our Constitution by the left cannot be allowed to pass without objection in some form or another.  Acquiescence is not the only option.

Consider this please.  What if every serviceman or woman went to his or her Chaplin, stated their concerns and provided the basic evidence (direct and circumstantial, links, former statements by NPR etc. indicating a Kenyan birth, etc., etc.) that would cause most reasonable persons to have legitimate questions about Obama’s lack of eligibility to serve and issue lawful orders?  What if requests were made to each Chaplin instructing them to pass these concerns up the Chain of Command?  Would there come a point, a number of requests that would cause the leadership to demand proof of eligibility?

Maybe military leadership could utilize the following provision?

§ 935. Art. 135. Courts of inquiry

(a) Courts of inquiry to investigate any matter may be convened by any person authorized to convene a general court-martial or by any other person designated by the Secretary concerned for that purpose, whether or not the persons involved have requested such an inquiry.

If the Oath to protect the Constitution is not important today, why don’t we just change the oath of allegiance to reflect our current level of commitment?

I, _______, do solemnly swear to protect ME and I will try to defend the Constitution as long as it doesn’t adversely impact the aforementioned ‘ME’.

Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
Albert Einstein

Official DisclosureJust to be clear, my graphics depict almost all members of the BOPAC Administration as being full of crap.  They do not actually look like turds – one needs special ‘full of crap’ glasses to be able to see the core of those who continually feed America BS.  I treat everyone equally – when Glenn Beck goes off on those who reasonably question Obama’s eligibility, he gets a half-full of crap depiction.

Obama & Larry Sinclair – Military Veterans Favor McCain 56% to 37%

July 26, 2008

At least our military and our Veterans have not lost their minds. They are still able to see through the media show that is propping up Senator Obama.

The same media that refuses to investigate anything that may be harmful to Obama. Issues like: Tony Rezko and allegations of political corruption, Rev. Wright and William Ayers and their hate America message, allegations of hiring thugs to patrol the internet to intimidate opposing voices, allegations of having used crack concaine and engaged in gay sex with Larry Sinclair in 1999.

When America wakes up and finds that they are well on the path to excessive governmental control and socialism, it will be too late. However, our enemies are not going to join us on that path or the Obama myth. They wait for us to lower our guard. That is the choice for Americans. I hope they choose wisely.

This is from Rasmussen Reports:

Military Veterans Favor McCain 56% to 37%

<!–

–>Voters who have served in the U.S. military favor John McCain over Barack Obama by a 56% to 37% margin.

This data, from a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, is based upon interviews with 3,000 Likely Voters, including 588 voters who have served in the military. Voters with no military service favor Obama 50% to 43%.

The survey was conducted July 21-23 while Obama was on an overseas tour that included Afghanistan and Iraq. Overall, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll showed Obama leading 48% to 45% (with leaners) over those three days.

But a separate survey also found that 63% of Americans do not believe the stopovers in the two war-torn countries made the Democratic candidate any more qualified to be president.

The same survey also found that less than a third (32%) thought Obama learned from his trip to Iraq, while 40% said his mind was already made up about how to deal with the war there.

Obama on Tuesday at a press conference in Jordan defended his plan to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq over a 16-month period. Gen. David H. Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, with whom he met, opposes a timeline of any kind, but Obama wants to put more forces in Afghanistan.

In the new survey, 61% of military veterans have a favorable opinion of McCain while 46% say the same about Obama. Thirty-seven percent (37%) have an unfavorable opinion of McCain while 51% offer an unfavorable opinion of Obama.

Twenty-four percent (24%) of veterans have a Very Favorable opinion of the GOP candidate while 17% hold a Very Unfavorable view. The numbers for his Democratic opponet are 27% Very Favorable and 36% Very Unfavorable.

Veterans also prefer Republicans by 10 percentage points on the Generic Congressional Ballot. Those without military experience favor Democrats by a 48% to 32% margin. Overall, Democrats lead by nine percentage points on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

Thirty-seven percent (37%) of veterans say that economic issues are most important in Election 2008 while 29% cite national security issues. For those without military service, 47% see the economy as most important and 21% say national security.

While those with a military background favor McCain, that’s not the case for those with immediate family members in the military. There is no significant difference between the views of those with military family members and those without.

Among those with close friends or relatives serving in Iraq, 44% favor McCain and 44% prefer Obama. Obama leads by seven among those who don’t have a close friend or relative in Iraq.

Obama has not served in the military. McCain, a Navy combat pilot in the Vietnam War, was shot, imprisoned and tortured in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” for six years.

Senator Obama’s Patriotism – a Veteran’s Perspective

July 1, 2008

Patriotism is the cloak we wear to announce our love of country and our bond to our neighbors. It reflects our commitment to each other and to the ideas upon which this country was founded. It is that which trumpets the chorus “We Stand Together.” The threads are our highest and noblest principles and they remind us to be vigilant in regard to their protection, lest they become bare, frayed, distorted and lose their luster. It is not blind obedience, but is thoughtful and reflective. It is that of a caretaker. Mindfully practiced, it can shape the essence of the individual and thus be reflected in our society. It is a simple thing and is profound in its potential.

It is also a simple and profound thing that occurs when it is neglected, distorted, or diminished. We lose the We. The We becomes strangers who have forgotten what price has been paid in blood for our individual Freedoms and Obligations. The We becomes we who are less committed and connected to our neighbors and common values. When the cloak is removed, it is harder to recognize from a distance what principles are within the heart, what they are striving for.

Patriotism is not a dangerous word when it is grounded in precious truths that we have to aspire to and frequently fall short of. It is not a dangerous word when it is practiced sincerely, inclusively and humbly. It is the journey of a group that wants the Nation to radiate warmth and love. It is why individuals have the courage to stand up to the government when the nation’s principles seem to be lost or off tract. Because the principles mean something, many hearts weep when the next generation appears to have forgotten or never were taught about the journey, the price. Freedom is not free and there are those that would take it away.

Just as Senator Obama said in February during this election cycle, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter. ‘I have a dream.’ Just words? ‘We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal.’ Just words? ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words? Just speeches?” I agree with the Senator that words do matter.

I would also add, “Don’t tell me that symbols don’t matter. Putting your hand over your heart when saying the Pledge. Just a symbol. Treating the Flag with reverence. Just a symbol. Wearing a Flag lapel pin. Just a symbol. And guess what, – symbols matter. It should matter even more for the representatives of our government. It is a part of being mindful about our freedom. It is part of showing the next generation that these ideals are the principles of this Nation. These principles are why our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters are called upon sometimes to risk losing their lives. Symbols matter. They slow the decay of ideas by causing us to remember.

That is why this photo creates in me such distress. Sen. Obama might become President and he doesn’t have a clue about what being Patriotic means. There is a level of arrogance in his actions that slaps everyone who has had to answer the call to arms. I believe he refers to us as the clingers. The clingers to guns and religion whose forefathers founded this great country and in January of 2009 might become his subjects. The Senator seems to only see the negative in America and not its strengths. He must have learned that from his pastor.

“There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured with what is right in America.”
William J. Clinton
