Trail of Dropped Black Panther Case May Lead to White House

I know you’ll be shocked, but new evidence seems to indicate the order to dismiss the already-won case against the Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Pennsylvania in 2008 may have come from the White House itself.

In case you somehow managed to miss this incident amidst the wall-to-wall, nonstop media coverage (sarcasm alert, sarcasm alert), on Election Day in 2008, Black Panthers stationed themselves in front of the doors of voting locations in Philadelphia, and in at least one case, a Panther wielded a night stick.  There were also allegations of verbal intimidation by the Panthers, with one allegedly telling a white person they would soon know what it was like to be “ruled by the black man.”

Yet this clear case of voter intimidation was suddenly shot down by the powers that be in the Department of “Justice.”

It should always seem odd when a case that is practically won and is ready to go to the sentencing phase is suddenly dropped–especially when the players all have political connections to one another.

The players, other than the Black Panthers themselves, are Associate Attorney General Thomas Perrelli (a political appointee who raised about $500,000 for Obama), hite House Deputy Counsel Cassandra Butts and President Barack Obama.

They get a pass on everything they do from the American Media, because Liberals treat black people like pets — they use them whenever they need convenient agitators and props to scream and yell about something on television, or as set dressing for any event they want to look “diverse”, but other than that ignore completely.  The Left has no desire in helping black people advance, assimilate into the business and professional class, and move out of rundown urban areas.  The NAACP and CBC have no interest in any of this either.  They like black people right where they are, as poor and dependent on the state as they are, because that means they have to keep voting Democrat in lockstep to keep being fed, clothed, and housed by the state.  Like pets.

We think the Race Industry in this country has gone too far, but hasn’t realized it yet.

I'm Sure There Are Many Soldiers Living This Nightmare. It's Time For The Joint Chiefs of Staff to Step To The Plate and Support Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin! Don't Be Military Sheep.

In support of Lt. Col. Lakin’s courage in seeking the ‘Truth’ (and as a former In-Flight Tech in the Navy), I urge all who have served or have friends/family in the military to ask the following question of those currently serving. 

Brothers and Sisters in the Military, when are you going to demand Obama establish that he is a Natural Born Citizen, eligible to serve as Commander In Chief?  

The military is the only government organization that I continue to have respect for and it pains me criticize those serving.  And I understand the consequences of challenging Obama’s eligibility directly, but the continuing attacks against our Constitution by the left cannot be allowed to pass without objection in some form or another.  Acquiescence is not the only option.

Consider this please.  What if every serviceman or woman went to his or her Chaplin, stated their concerns and provided the basic evidence (direct and circumstantial, links, former statements by NPR etc. indicating a Kenyan birth, etc., etc.) that would cause most reasonable persons to have legitimate questions about Obama’s lack of eligibility to serve and issue lawful orders?  What if requests were made to each Chaplin instructing them to pass these concerns up the Chain of Command?  Would there come a point, a number of requests that would cause the leadership to demand proof of eligibility?

Maybe military leadership could utilize the following provision?

§ 935. Art. 135. Courts of inquiry

(a) Courts of inquiry to investigate any matter may be convened by any person authorized to convene a general court-martial or by any other person designated by the Secretary concerned for that purpose, whether or not the persons involved have requested such an inquiry.

If the Oath to protect the Constitution is not important today, why don’t we just change the oath of allegiance to reflect our current level of commitment?

Good luck Petty Officer McCabe. My understanding is that the original jury panel was made up of 4 Officers and 3 Enlisted.  From what I’ve read about the Voir Dire process, there is hope that McCabe will receive a fair trial despite what Mr. Obama may want.

Decorated Soldier May Lose All

Lt. Col. Lakin’s awards and decorations include the Army Flight Surgeon Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Armed Forces Expedition Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon sixth award and the NATO service medal. He has served previously in Honduras, Bosnia, El Salvador, Korea, and Afghanistan.

This American hero, who takes his oath to protect and defend the Constitution seriously, is being court-martialed. Why? Because, while he says he has one, Lt. Col. Lakin’s commander in chief will not actually produce a valid birth certificate, nor will he release his college records or other school records that would indicate his claimed natural-born citizenship status.

Think about that. For failure to produce mere pieces of paper he says he has, the commander in chief will allow a decorated American hero (Lakin) to be court-martialed. Lakin could be imprisoned or lose his retirement after decades of honorable service.

What does that say about the commander in chief?

Natural Born Citizen Issue –

When I served in the Navy, I understood that I was risking my life for Freedom, Liberty and the Constitution. I would not have joined if I were defending socialism. Have our most revered sacrificed all in vain? Not yet but we are getting close.

I wonder if Glenn Beck has done any second-guessing about his decision to ignore Obama’s lack of evidence that he is a ‘natural born citizen’?  Yes, there would have been some rioting in the streets because of Obama’s deception but it would have passed when the whole truth came out.  I wonder if the Judges who have been so afraid of this political hot potato are ashamed of their lack of courage to demand truth?  They could have sparred the American people Obama’s distructive march to socialism.  

I for one feel vindicated about the wisdom of the Founders’ inclusion in the Constitution of the ‘natural born citizen’ requirement to serve as President.  Had Glenn Beck, weak kneed Judges and others stood up and demanded proof that Obama was eligible to serve as President, we would have been spared years of future struggle to undo the harm Obama is doing to America.  Obama is the reason the Founders included the provision.  He has conflicted allegiances to this country.

Article II, Section 1 requires anyone serving as President to be born a citizen of the United States to parents who were both citizens of the United States at the time of the candidates birth.

I salute the Founders for their wisdom and I remind all others that Obama has yet to prove he is a ‘natural born citizen’.  Calling Obama on this issue is the quickest way to undo the damage because everything he has done could be stricken.  Say goodbye to government run car companies, government run healthcare, radical judical appointments and threats to our rights and liberties.

Maybe now that a majority of America is waking up, it is time to revisit this issue.

Washington Leadership has ‘Flatlined’

Since healthcare is the issue du jour, it is only fair to describe that Congressional and White House leadership has FLATLINED – there appears to be a pulse but negligible brain wave activity. I have to admit up front that I am no medical doctor but, then, do we have to be medical professionals to understand what is happening in Washington? In watching the daily news, I have come to the conclusion that our government seemingly cannot solve any of our problems. Not prone to being negative in my outlook, it is apparent that we are falling further into national collapse and nearing chaos.

The gigantic bureaucracy created at all levels of government now seems paralyzed in their endeavors to streamline government and spending. Yes, America, you are watching while Washington burns before your eyes. What does a country and its citizens do as their nation continues to collapse? What are you going to do? The Declaration of Independence states:

“To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect Happiness.”

We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and Halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of Progressive Socialism. This is the current battle we Constitutionalists face and we must be aggressive in our efforts. Demanding the resignation of corrupt officials by the people of this country is required before more damage is done.

The oath is simple and reads:

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Sadly, we have seen them violate their oath. Fraud, lying, and corruption are rampant and some have engaged in treasonous activities, and they effectively thumb their noses at us and have sold you to the highest bidder.

The Articles of Confederation were replaced with the Constitution, which granted the federal government enough authority to cultivate, promote and secure the Blessings of Liberty. The balance of authority and individual liberty was understood. Power was confined to that which was enumerated in the Constitution with a certain and meaningful intent for check and balances.

Lincoln issued this warning in his inaugural address,

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and form a new one. This is a most valuable and sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world.”

We are a representative republic, not a democracy. “Rising up” means non-violent revolution. The people must “rise up” from the grass roots; we must think of the greater good. We are limited in the peaceful transfer of power…resignation, elections, and impeachment….Continue Reading

End of student loan program will mean job cuts at Nelnet

Congressional votes Thursday to end federally subsidized student lending by private companies will mean job cuts at Lincoln student loan company Nelnet, a company spokesman said Friday.

“We are very disappointed by this political news,” said spokesman Ben Kiser. “We believe it is poor public policy that will eliminate a part of our business and result in job losses in our community.”

Kiser declined to give any details about the scope of the cuts, although he said they will occur over the next several months. Nelnet employs about 2,100 people, including more than 800 in Lincoln.

The provision to end the Federal Family Education Loan Program and to channel all federal student lending directly through the government was tacked on to the controversial health insurance overhaul legislation.

The Senate voted 56-43 in favor of the bill Thursday, and the House followed suit later in the day, voting 220-207 to end the program.

In addition to ending federally subsidized loans through private lenders, the bill also would increase Pell grants to needy students and send more money to community colleges and historically black colleges….Continue Reading

Obamanomics, ObamaCare, ChiBama Politics, Climategate, NavySealGate - All Leading to Socialist America! But will it lead to discovery regarding "natural born citizen"/ Birth Certificate issue?

The yield on the 10 year Treasury is like the canary in the coal mine.  It foretales of bad things to come.  It’s rise is indicative of underlying inflationary pressure brought about bad government policies such as job killing taxes and policies (ObamaCare, Cap and Tax, monitizing debt, printing money out of thin air, etc.).  Some have been getting excited about the stock markets rise as being a sign of growing health of our economy.  They are wrong. It is rising because there is no other place to put money.  Because people are going to the stock market for gain, treasuries that pay next to nothing are unattractive as an investment.  So many investers are selling their older treasuries and putting money elsewhere.

The more debt and uncertainty Obama creates, the more new Tresuries will need to pay to attact investors, which will create higher debt in the form of interest servicing for Obama.  Instead of cutting taxes to increase revenue to pay these debts, Obama will raise taxes and make the situation even worse.  If America’s sovereign credit rating is ever down graded, we are done.  

Recently, the problems in Greece, Spain, Portugal have bought the US a little time by making America look more secure than it actually is.  However, time and irresponsible fiscal policies will come home to roost and Obama will not be able to shift the blame.

Supply fears start to hit Treasuries

The bond vigilantes are finally flexing their muscles. A long period of stability for the US government bond market showed signs of cracking this week as a lack of investor appetite for new debt sent the benchmark 10-year yield to its highest level since last June.

For more than a year, analysts have been warning that record sized debt sales by the US Treasury were at odds with a 10-year yield sitting comfortably below 4 per cent. This week, the yield on 10-year notes jumped from 3.65 per cent to a peak of 3.92 per cent on Thursday. On Friday it was 3.87 per cent.

Falling inflation, rising unemployment, the housing market slump, the Federal Reserve’s policies of a near zero overnight borrowing rate and its purchase of up to $1,700bn in bonds have all helped keep Treasury yields near historic lows.

But this week the mood shifted as yields for $118bn of new US debt were much higher than forecast, sparking overall selling of Treasuries. The Hill is reporting tonight that the Democrats have published a copy of the bill that they plan to use to update the original Senate healthcare socialization bill that Pelosi plans to bring to the floor this week.

And it appears they’ve decided to go all-in on this one.  Included in the bill appears to be the “public option” that was removed from the Senate bill.  From page 1167 of the bill:

And it’s 2,309 pages long.  The House Budget Committee has to start its markup today to have any shot at getting it done by the weekend, which means that this version may change over the next few days:

House Democrats hope to complete their work by this weekend, before President Barack Obama begins an overseas trip he delayed for several days to focus on healthcare.

The package released by the committee runs 2,309-pages.

House Democrats have promised the bill would be posted online well before the eventual vote on the package.

The markup by the Budget Committee is the first step toward bringing the measure to the House floor.

The big question will be what the bill contains that makes it ineligible for reconciliation, if anything.  Any part not directly germane to budgeting should, according to the rules, have to go through normal Senate debate.  Republicans will want to find as many of these as possible to get the parliamentarian to rule against the reconciliation process.

On page 2099, the nationalization of the student-loan industry appears in the bill, as promised.  It’s difficult to tell whether that will create more problems for reconciliation by alienating Democrats worried about passing two government takeovers at once, or whether it’s a sweetener to convince some recalcitrant Democrats along who may have otherwise opposed the House changes to the Senate bill. …Continue Reading

March 15 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. and the U.K. have moved “substantially” closer to losing their AAA credit ratings as the cost of servicing their debt rose, according to Moody’s Investors Service.

The governments of the two economies must balance bringing down their debt burdens without damaging growth by removing fiscal stimulus too quickly, Pierre Cailleteau, managing director of sovereign risk at Moody’s in London, said in a telephone interview.

Under the ratings company’s so-called baseline scenario, the U.S. will spend more on debt service as a percentage of revenue this year than any other top-rated country except the U.K., and will be the biggest spender from 2011 to 2013, Moody’s said today in a report.

“We expect the situation to further deteriorate in terms of the key ratings metrics before they start stabilizing,” Cailleteau said. “This story is not going to stop at the end of the year. There is inertia in the deterioration of credit metrics.” ….Continue Reading

STUTTGART, GERMANY – The Nazis made plans to conduct a Holocaust of Jews living in Palestine during the Second World War, according to German historians who have examined secret archives. The Nazis stationed a unit of ruthless troops in the Greek capital Athens with the task of landing in Palestine and murdering about 500,000 European Jews who had taken refuge there, the historians at the University of Stuttgart said Wednesday. But it never deployed.

The rapid-deployment unit was answerable to the Afrika Korps, the German army in North Africa headed by Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.

Klaus Michael Mallmann of the University’s Ludwigsburg research team and his assistant Martin Cueppers said they had spent three years studying German wartime archives including those at the Foreign Office in Berlin.

The Allied defeat of Rommel at the end of 1942 had prevented the extension of the Holocaust to Palestine, they said. If Rommel had beaten the Allies in the desert and invaded Egypt, a push into Palestine would have followed and the unit would have deployed there.

The researchers, whose findings appear in a new book entitled Germans, Jews, Genocide, said the Athens unit was intended to operate like Nazi units that hunted for Jews in eastern Europe and either massacred them or sent them to the Nazi death camps.

Mallmann and Cueppers said the Nazis had planned to exploit Arab friendship for their plans.

The man accused of masterminding the ambush and slaughter of the four Americans is now in U.S. custody, but three Navy SEALs are facing charges in connection with an alleged post-arrest assault on the man.

Now, congressmen are lining up in defense of the SEALs — one of whom grew up in Blue Island — by offering passionate speeches and asking for a new look at the charges.

Rep. Duncan D. Hunter, a Republican from the San Diego area and an Iraq war veteran, told the Navy Times on Thursday he is asking Defense Secretary Robert Gates to look into the charges against the SEALs.

“It’s just so absurd. I mean, they split his lip. In a boxing situation, that’s legal,” Hunter said. “They punched a terrorist in the face and, boom, we’re going to launch these guys out of the Navy.”

Just like Obama is not Malcolm X - Obama is not a "Natural Born Citizen"! Obama may look like Malcolm X and Obama may be a "Citizen"; but being a "Citizen" does not necessarily mean that Obama is a "Natural Born Citizen"! Gov. Palin should draw attention to this distinction.

It seems that Gov. Sarah Palin has weighed in on the issue of whether Obama is a “natural born citizen”.  I’m sure Gov. Palin will be attacked for not answering the interviewer’s question with the required answer for all such questions dictated by the mainstream media. Thank you Gov. Palin!

Sarah is a nirther

 On Rusty Humphries radio show, in an the exclusive interview, Sarah Palin  said  the following according to  Ben Smith’s transcript, at Politico.com:

“Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?” she was asked (around 9 minutes into the video above).

“I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know if I would have to bother to make it an issue, because I think that members of the electorate still want answers,” she replied.

She must have seen the analysis of the forged COLB (certification of live brith) at Atlas from June 2008. 

In a related Hot Air post, Allahpundit says concerning the “birthers”, “this particular science is well settled”.  I looked through the articles Hot Air linked to and it appears that Allahpundit believes that Obama is a “citizen” and is therefore a “natural born citizen”.   If Allahpundit would take just a little more time to research this issue he would find that the terms “citizen” and “natural born citizen” are not equal.  The differences are not difficult to understand but do require looking beyond media headlines. 

A good place to start would be Atty Mario Apuzzo’s site. Mario Apuzzo is the attorney for CDR Charles Kerchner.  They contend that to be a “natural born citizen” both parents must be citizens of the United States.  Even if Allahpundit believes that it is settled science as to the question of Obama being a “citizen” of the U. S. – it is not settled science/law as to the question of does being a “citizen” equal being a “natural born citizen”.  It does not. 

I hope Gov. Sarah Palin will study up on the distinctions of the two terms and stay away from the Hawaii birthplace because it is not critical.

I would bet that one could find a ton of “climategate” like emails in the mainstream media setting out an intentional game plan to equate the two terms and demean those daring to ask such a question of Obama.

So what does this all mean? It does not mean that there is no warming trend or that mankind has not been responsible for at least some of the warming. To claim that as result of these documents is clearly a step too far. To the extent that paleoclimatology is an important part of the scientific case for action regarding global warming, urgent reassessments need to be made. Acorning the Climate Change Movement

The climate change movement may have been caught in its first ACORN moment, with the publication of emails suggesting global warming data has been manipulated or suppressed.

The University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (CRU) email system was hacked, and it appears fraud as a political strategy may not be limited to ACORN’s community organizing. As with ACORN, rest assured, it won’t be the political or big media establishments that capture the next big evidentiary breakthroughs in “Climategate.”

Global warmists apparently don’t find destroying evidence offensive to their “science.” Similarly, ACORN doesn’t  seem fettered by ethics. Not even a week apart from the breaking news of Climategate, BigGovernment.com reported that the San Diego ACORN office was caught on film literally dumping documents even though it is facing investigation.

On this dumping of documents, BigGovernment.com reports,

“ACORN’s political agenda is also exposed, with thousands upon thousands of documents revealing the depth of the political machine that is ACORN, and its disturbing ties to not only public employee labor unions but some of the most radical leftist organizations.”

Either California’s attorney general didn’t demand that ACORN preserve all documents for the investigation, so that ACORN could not use the excuse of its document retention and destruction policies to destroy evidence, or ACORN ignored that demand.

Now with calls for investigations into Climategate, will investigators neglect taking steps to prevent the destruction of evidence? One cannot understate the scope of the fraud if data were manipulated or suppressed for financial and market gains, or other nefarious reasons (not that suppression of data by members of the scientific community wouldn’t be nefarious on its face).

Besides their apparent shared willingness to tamper with evidence, the climate change movement and ACORN have another common link: their foundations in Marxism.

ACORN, from founder Wade Rathke to others, employed the techniques and visions of Marxist Saul Alinsky.

The green movement, which found its ultimate vessel in climate change, is also steeped in Marxist foundations. The Green Horizon Foundation’s reading list, for example, is filled with Marxist authors, including Marx himself.

French author Andre Gorz, who’s featured on that list, published Ecology as Politics in 1975. In it, Gorz does not mask the anti-capitalist, Marxist agenda of the green movement. The 2.8% in the below article reflects mainly increases in ‘government spending’.  The illusion of a real sustainable increase in GDP was totally funded by Obama’s people printing money out of nowhere!  All smoke and mirrors that the compliant media spun as some great step towards recovery.

Notice that the government estimates were way off.  Do you think Congress is accurately estimating the costs for their proposed takeover of America’s healthcare system?  You can probably triple their estimates and still have estimated costs well below what they actually will be!

The Commerce Department revised its third-quarter economy estimation sharply downward today, from the previously announced 3.5% annualized growth to 2.8% instead.  That number would still be the best quarter in almost two years, but as the AP notes, it’s almost entirely comprised of short-term government stimulus:

The economy grew at a 2.8 percent pace last quarter, as the recovery got off to a slower start than first thought.

The Commerce Department’s new reading on gross domestic product wasn’t as energetic as the 3.5 percent growth rate for the July-September period estimated just a month ago.

The main factors behind the downgrade: consumers didn’t spend as much, commercial construction was weaker and the nation’s trade deficit was more of a drag on growth. Businesses also trimmed more of their stockpiles, another restraining factor.

The new reading on GDP, which measures the value of all goods and services produced in the United States — from machinery to manicures — was a tad weaker than the 2.9 percent growth rate economists surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected.

Jim Geraghty points out one big set of numbers that changed:

The revised numbers out today indicate that automotive consumption was less than half initially estimated, contributing 0.81 of percentage point to growth. The overall quarterly growth number was revised from 3.5 percent to 2.8 percent.

The White House had pointed to the original number of 1.7% as an indicator of the success of Cash for Clunkers. Now it looks as though they overestimated that number as well, which auto analyst Edmunds.com had stated….Continue Reading

Navy SEALs Face Assault Charges for Capturing Most-Wanted Terrorist FOX (hat tip big mac)

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

The three SEALs will be arraigned separately on Dec. 7. Another three SEALs — two officers and an enlisted sailor — have been identified by investigators as witnesses but have not been charged.

FoxNews.com obtained the official handwritten statement from one of the three witnesses given on Sept. 3, hours after Abed was captured and still being held at the SEAL base at Camp Baharia. He was later taken to a cell in the U.S.-operated Green Zone in Baghdad.

The SEAL told investigators he had showered after the mission, gone to the kitchen and then decided to look in on the detainee.

“I gave the detainee a glance over and then left,” the SEAL wrote. “I did not notice anything wrong with the detainee and he appeared in good health.”

Senator Obama’s Patriotism – a Veteran’s Perspective

Patriotism is the cloak we wear to announce our love of country and our bond to our neighbors. It reflects our commitment to each other and to the ideas upon which this country was founded. It is that which trumpets the chorus “We Stand Together.” The threads are our highest and noblest principles and they remind us to be vigilant in regard to their protection, lest they become bare, frayed, distorted and lose their luster. It is not blind obedience, but is thoughtful and reflective. It is that of a caretaker. Mindfully practiced, it can shape the essence of the individual and thus be reflected in our society. It is a simple thing and is profound in its potential.

It is also a simple and profound thing that occurs when it is neglected, distorted, or diminished. We lose the We. The We becomes strangers who have forgotten what price has been paid in blood for our individual Freedoms and Obligations. The We becomes we who are less committed and connected to our neighbors and common values. When the cloak is removed, it is harder to recognize from a distance what principles are within the heart, what they are striving for.

Patriotism is not a dangerous word when it is grounded in precious truths that we have to aspire to and frequently fall short of. It is not a dangerous word when it is practiced sincerely, inclusively and humbly. It is the journey of a group that wants the Nation to radiate warmth and love. It is why individuals have the courage to stand up to the government when the nation’s principles seem to be lost or off tract. Because the principles mean something, many hearts weep when the next generation appears to have forgotten or never were taught about the journey, the price. Freedom is not free and there are those that would take it away.

Just as Senator Obama said in February during this election cycle, “Don’t tell me words don’t matter. ‘I have a dream.’ Just words? ‘We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal.’ Just words? ‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words? Just speeches?” I agree with the Senator that words do matter.

I would also add, “Don’t tell me that symbols don’t matter. Putting your hand over your heart when saying the Pledge. Just a symbol. Treating the Flag with reverence. Just a symbol. Wearing a Flag lapel pin. Just a symbol. And guess what, – symbols matter. It should matter even more for the representatives of our government. It is a part of being mindful about our freedom. It is part of showing the next generation that these ideals are the principles of this Nation. These principles are why our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters are called upon sometimes to risk losing their lives. Symbols matter. They slow the decay of ideas by causing us to remember.

That is why this photo creates in me such distress. Sen. Obama might become President and he doesn’t have a clue about what being Patriotic means. There is a level of arrogance in his actions that slaps everyone who has had to answer the call to arms. I believe he refers to us as the clingers. The clingers to guns and religion whose forefathers founded this great country and in January of 2009 might become his subjects. The Senator seems to only see the negative in America and not its strengths. He must have learned that from his pastor.

Honduras: Other side of story

In the past, Honduras was dominated by military dictatorships, but democracy finally came. It hit a snag, though, on June 28 when the military arrested its president and deported him. President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemed the military action, but there’s another side to the story.

….Honduran democracy hit a snag on June 28 when the military arrested President Manuel Zelaya and deported him. Around the world, leaders denounced this coup and demanded the president’s return. Both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton condemned the military action.

But there’s another side to the story. A Colorado legislator, Morgan Smith, visited Honduras and wrote a Denver Post commentary saying Zelaya richly deserved removal.  Here’s his account:

A wealthy rancher, Zelaya was elected in 2005 but began behaving tyrannically. He demanded a chance to seek a second term, although the country’s constitution forbids it. The Honduran Congress rebuffed his request for a referendum to change the constitution. He appealed to the Supreme Court, which rejected him. When the top military commander wouldn’t support his effort, the president fired him. Zelaya tried to proceed with the referendum on his own, but the attorney general said it was illegal.

The president ordered his followers to break into a military compound where ballots were stored, and distribute them. Congress, controlled by his own party, voted 122 to six to remove him from office. The Supreme Court ordered the military to arrest Zelaya and deport him (on a premise that his supporters might rebel if he remained in the country). A legislative leader became acting president, with no right to seek the office in November elections.

Zelaya attempted illegally “to consolidate his power and seek a lifelong presidency,” Smith wrote. He quoted Hondurans as saying the president “went crazy the last year.”

I heard from a GOP friend who passed on a message from a GOP collegue.  The person is a 20 year GOP “vet”, a local activist.  He was present last night at the great Rumble in Tampa:

“…I just got home and am completely energized after Democrat Congresswoman Cathy Castor’s Town Hall meeting turned into a near-riot tonight. She was shouted down, she left after 13 minutes under police escort while union thugs were beating up those who protested because they couldn’t get in. I am trying to get copies of various videotapes up on YouTube…a couple links follow.

I had REDACTED get there an hour & half early and he said they had the doors shut but the SEIC Union and local Dem party leaders allowed their supporters in through a back door so the could fill in the front of the hall with the pro side. So when the doors opened, there were only a few seats left and they closed the doors. There were close to 1,000 of our people outside and they started chanting “Move it outside…move it outside” and “Just say no” The Dems have lost control of this issue & we have finally energized our base and expanded our appeal. 95% of our “protesters” were people I have NEVER seen before. These really are just local residents, neighbors, and voters who are fed up with where Obama s taking our country. It was so refreshing to see the momentum and the Dems can’t figure it out. I talked toe who said he had never seen the Republicans be protesters before and I laughed and said me either and I have no idea who they are, although many were independents and even democrats who feel it has just gone too far….”

I’ve been following Larry Sinclair’s story for a year.  I checked it out as a joke.  Then I found it interesting.  Funny thing, along the way I realized that the man is like the Energizer Bunny.  He has never changed his tune.  He has never stopped.  Along the way he has endured some nasty stuff including an arrest by one of Joe Biden’s sons.  The man has been harassed.  They have attempted to intimidate him.  All Larry Sinclair did was write a book.For those who ignored his warning that Obama and his minions were frightening and excelled at threats, intimidation, and violence, well, we ignored him.  When David Axelrod said to punch back twice as hard, no one took him literally. Is anyone watching this? He is speaking at the G20 summit, taking questions from the press. He appears to be cracking up, melting right in front of my eyes. Stuttering, losing focus. It’s painful to watch.
Taking forever …. to say nothing. He sneezes and loses his train of thought.

UPDATE: So now he goes off the prepared list of reporters questions and takes random questions. He says he’ll take a question from a “foreigner” – realizes his gaffe and says ….” I am the foreigner”.

He says he doesn’t want to be accused of gender bias (ha ha) and he picks a woman whom I believe he thinks is a Muslim. She’s not. She’s an Indian and asks O, when he met with the Indian Prime Minister, what was discussed to fight the terrorism against India coming from Pakistan (Bingo!).

Obama can’t answer. Starts to compliment the magnificence of the Indian prime minister, and she agrees. The crowd doesn’t like that the journalist supports her PM – Obama shoots back, did you have something to do with him getting elected? (Strange is not the word.) And then says, just kidding.
