Larry Sinclair’s Journey –

Ahmadinejad - One of Many Reasons Why Larry Sinclair's Allegations Matter!

It won’t be long before Obama’s credibility will be frozen below zero.  Once that happens, I wonder if the media will turn on him to save their own sorry butts.  I doubt it – they are committed to lovin Obama up no matter what the facts and reality on the ground indicate.

Obama’s Dog and Lover Fly In Own Jet

July 18, 2010 ·

As Rome burned, Emperor Nero played the fiddle.

As of 4:43 am, west coast time, Sunday, July 18, 2010, the U.S. national debt was $13,204,759,696,170 and increasing by the second. Debt per citizen was $42,628 and increasing by the second. Debt per taxpayer was $119,360 and increasing by the second.

But Obama and family flew to Bar Harbor, Maine, for their THIRD vacation since the BP Deepwater Horizon oil well exploded on April 20.

Arriving at the airport before the Obamas were first dog Bo and Obama’s “special assistant/personal aidegay lover, the aptly named Reggie Love in their own small jet plane.

This is how Wikipedia describes Love: “As Obama’s aide, he has to anticipate any and all of Obama’s needs.”

Natural Born Citizen Issue –

Just like Obama is not Malcolm X - Obama is not a "Natural Born Citizen"! Obama may look like Malcolm X and Obama may be a "Citizen"; but being a "Citizen" does not necessarily mean that Obama is a "Natural Born Citizen"! Joint Chiefs of Staff’s new mottos: Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil & Don’t rock the boat!

Mr. Maldonado certainly would have my vote if I lived in Missouri! Sharon Rondeau does a great job in her interview of asking the right questions.

U.S. Senate Hopeful Hector Maldonado: If Obama ineligible, he has committed “high crimes and possibly treason”

“I WILL ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS”

by Sharon Rondeau

Hector Maldonado is running for U.S. Senate in Missouri, and his motto is “Show Me Freedom.”

(Jul. 18, 2010) — Although his birthplace is in Mexico, Hector Maldonado’s heart is with the United States.  He is a decorated combat Army veteran, having served in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq and Afghanistan and attaining the rank of captain and Master Trainer.

Born on April 21, 1972, Mr. Maldonado is one of ten children and was raised on a farm in California. He became a U.S. citizen in 1995.  He graduated with honors with a  degree in Political Science from California State University, San Bernardino.  He has worked in the field of health care and served in the New York Army National Guard, which  caused him to become a first responder to the terrorist attacks in Manhattan on September 11, 2001.

Mr. Maldonado officially launched his campaign for the U.S. Senate from Missouri on March 1, 2010 by by meeting with small business owners in Kansas City.   He opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants, is staunchly pro-life, and quotes frequently from the writings of the Founding Fathers.  His reason for running for the Senate is that “America deserves leaders that love Liberty and Freedom, not Power.”  His campaign website and blog are here, and the press release announcing his Senate bid is here.

MRS. RONDEAU: I saw the video from Branson Radio Live during which you discuss the fact that the Missouri Secretary of State, Robin Carnahan, wrote you a certified letter asking for your birth certificate as proof of eligibility for you to run for the U.S. Senate.  Who was the interviewer?

MR. MALDONADO: Her name is Karen Berka.  I’m putting together some concerts to get my name out with Gary S. Paxton, the legendary songwriter who wrote a lot of great hits.  He wrote “Monster Mash,” “America, You’re Too Young to Die,” “These Colors Don’t Run,” “Cherry Pie”…2600 songs.  He gave me a CD and we did our first concert in Branson.  Karen Berka is the radio host for Branson Radio Live, so during part of the concert, we did about an hour interview, and the video is a short segment of that.

MRS. RONDEAU: I only recently learned who you were after your name was all over the internet regarding the request for your birth certificate to determine your eligibility.  How did it begin, and why do you think the Secretary of State’s office pursued it?…Continue Reading

Loyalty is Required in the Obama Cult!

From Atlas Shrugs comes more news of conservative women will real backbone.  This week it’s Sarah Palin and as the author says, ‘Gd, I love this woman!  – and Atlas Shrugs.

Sarah Palin Opposes Ground Zero Mega Mosque

….Gd, I love this woman! She is not afraid of the jackals, hyenas, and vultures who troll her home, her garbage cans, and her most prized possession, her children. She has spine, character, ethics, integrity, and above all, true grit. If she runs, I’ll be right behind her.

Here is Sarah’s twitter: (hat tip MZ)

Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real

The Islamic supremacist mega mosque is a stab in the eye of every American. The question is, why there? Why did the terror-tied Imam Rauf spend five million dollars to build a triumphal mosque 600 feet from the site of the largest attack, Islamic attack in American history? There have been 15,644 Islamic attacks since 911 across the world. Each one had the imprimatur of an Islamic cleric. What is being done to expunge the koran of the violent texts that inspire jihad?

The response to the overwhelming pain this mosque has caused has been ad hominem attacks. I find the Cordoba Initiative’s callousness towards the grief they are causing radically intolerant….Continue Reading

Unfortunately, I don't have to make a big leap to believe something like this actually exists in the Obama White House basement! Soros-funded group wants feds to probe talk radio

Says cable-news networks engaged in ‘hate speech’

A George Soros-funded, Marxist-founded organization with close ties to the White House has urged the Federal Communications Commission to investigate talk radio and cable news for “hate speech.”

The organization, calling itself Free Press, claims media companies are engaging in “hate speech” because a disproportionate number of radio and cable-news networks are owned by non-minorities.

WND previously reported Free Press published a study advocating the development of a “world class” government-run media system in the U.S.

The hot new best-seller, “The Manchurian President,” by Aaron Klein reveals inside story on Team Obama and its members. Now available autographed at WND’s Superstore!

Free Press was one of 33 organizations that drafted a 25-page petition asking the FCC to “initiate an inquiry into the extent and effects of hate speech in media and to explore non-regulatory means by which to mitigate its negative impacts.”

Tea Party –

The Universal United Church of OBamboozle! State Run Media Always Welcome! Every Secret Well Kept! Kal Penn, Larry Sinclair, not a Natural Born Citizen, Bill Ayers, Reggie, etc., etc., etc.

I can’t tell you how much respect I have for Lloyd Marcus for his courage in standing up for what is right and seeing clearly the deceptions put out by Obama’s supporters. Real ‘racism’ must be fought whenever it raises its head because it is one of the ugliest and most contemptible afflictions one can have or be raised with. And yes – it afflicts every ethnic group.  For the NAACP to sling allegations of racism for nothing more than political gain does dishonor to all in the ‘civil rights’ movement.

“…it is foolish for tea party patriots to pander to our enemy, the liberal mainstream media…”

From The American Thinker:

Race Roils Tea Party Movement

By Lloyd Marcus

Who on earth could be calling me at 5:30am? It was CNN. After apologizing for the early call, the producer, almost giddy with excitement, said tea party spokesperson, Mark Williams made, “what some would call”, a racist comment on his blog about the NAACP.

Me being a black spokesperson for the Tea Party Movement, CNN was requesting that I come on the air to address Mark’s comment. I told the CNN producer that I had not read Mark’s comment. The response was, “I’ll email it to you. Please read it and call me back.”

After reading Mark’s comment, I told my wife, “This is much ado about nothing. I am not going on the air allowing them to put me on the defensive defending Mark Williams.” My beautiful, wonderful and wise wife replied, “Do the interview, but do not defend Mark. Use this as an opportunity to defend the Tea Party Movement.”

It is truly unfortunate that some on our side are so easily put on the defensive. NAACP, president, Ben Jealous slandered millions of decent Tea Party patriots by saying we tolerate racist signs. We do not. Not one liberal mainstream media outlet demanded that Jealous produce the “Lynch Barack Obama” and “Lynch Eric Holder” signs he claimed to have seen. Thus, the liberal media are saying these violent racist signs exist and the tea partiers are guilty simply because Jealous says so.

Furthering their efforts to discredit the tea party movement by portraying them as racist, the liberal media attacked our Mark Williams for a satirical comment on his blog. Mark is a personal friend who is not a racist; far from it. On his blog, Mark was making a point about the blatant hypocrisy and backwardness of the NAACP.

Meanwhile, the liberal media typically ignores “real racism” coming from the left. …Continue Reading

ObamaCare –

Soros keeps popping up over and over. His hand is everywhere in America's destruction.

Once upon a time, I used to believe that those who called themselves the ‘left’ were committed to civil rights and protecting our freedoms under the Constitution. Boy was I wrong.  I have struggled throughout my lifetime for equality, civil rights and I really did respect the ‘left’ for what I mistook as passion for our freedoms.  I thought we had this in common.  However, I mostly considered the ‘left’ naïve when it came to understanding economics. That’s why I have many times voted for Republican candidates. The left needed fiscal conservatives to keep them from wrecking America’s economy and destroying the ‘safety net’ for those in need.

Today, it seems for the ‘left’ it has always been about hidden agendas (voter dependency, etc.) that were meant to destroy America’s free market economy, her sovereignty, her Constitution and ensure power.  They talk a good game about free speech etc. but only if they are the ones who get to decide what and who can say what and when – what and who can receive what and when – and who gets to govern.

Perverse Democrats

WASTING NO TIME
Donald Berwick
— the Obama Administration’s recess-appointed head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) — and his staff aren’t wasting a lot of time getting settled into their offices.  Already, Berwick, according to career employees at CMS, has begun looking at what resources are at his disposal to launch a wide-scale media and public relations offensive in support of Obamacare and his views on government-funded health care. CMS is the agency charged with administering Medicare and working with state governments to administer Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The agency also has a role in setting and overseeing quality standards in nursing homes.

Berwick is also said to have asked his senior staff to look for ways to utilize some of the foundations and entities he has had relationships with while working at Harvard and his own think tank, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and those organizations read like a who’s who from the George Soros Dustbin of Leftist Agitators.

Tops of among them is the Open Society Institute (OSI), itself a Soros-funded organization, which, through several different channels, has funneled money to Berwick’s IHI think tank at Harvard. Scholars at IHI were involved, for example in the Soros-funded “Project on Death in America,” which seeded hundreds of thousands of dollars across the country for studies into end of life issues. The OSI has also funneled similar amounts to organizations involved in drug-policy circles….Continue Reading

Commentary –

I'm Sure There Are Many Soldiers Living This Nightmare. It's Time For The Joint Chiefs of Staff to Step To The Plate and Support Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin! Don't Be Military Sheep.

In support of Lt. Col. Lakin’s courage in seeking the ‘Truth’ (and as a former In-Flight Tech in the Navy), I urge all who have served or have friends/family in the military to ask the following question of those currently serving.

Brothers and Sisters in the Military, when are you going to demand Obama establish that he is a Natural Born Citizen, eligible to serve as Commander In Chief?

The military is the only government organization that I continue to have respect for and it pains me criticize those serving.  And I understand the consequences of challenging Obama’s eligibility directly, but the continuing attacks against our Constitution by the left cannot be allowed to pass without objection in some form or another.  Acquiescence is not the only option.

Consider this please.  What if every serviceman or woman went to his or her Chaplin, stated their concerns and provided the basic evidence (direct and circumstantial, links, former statements by NPR etc. indicating a Kenyan birth, etc., etc.) that would cause most reasonable persons to have legitimate questions about Obama’s lack of eligibility to serve and issue lawful orders?  What if requests were made to each Chaplin instructing them to pass these concerns up the Chain of Command?  Would there come a point, a number of requests that would cause the leadership to demand proof of eligibility?

Maybe military leadership could utilize the following provision?

§ 935. Art. 135. Courts of inquiry

(a) Courts of inquiry to investigate any matter may be convened by any person authorized to convene a general court-martial or by any other person designated by the Secretary concerned for that purpose, whether or not the persons involved have requested such an inquiry.

If the Oath to protect the Constitution is not important today, why don’t we just change the oath of allegiance to reflect our current level of commitment?

I, _______, do solemnly swear to protect ME and I will try to defend the Constitution as long as it doesn’t adversely impact the aforementioned ‘ME’.

Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.

Official DisclosureJust to be clear, my graphics depict almost all members of the BOPAC Administration as being full of crap.  They do not actually look like turds – one needs special ‘full of crap’ glasses to be able to see the core of those who continually feed America BS.  I treat everyone equally – when Glenn Beck goes off on those who reasonably question Obama’s eligibility, he gets a half-full of crap depiction.

American Soldiers – Tortured Duty & Tortured Mission – The Whys and Whats Becoming Harder to Answer? – The BOPAC Report

January 1, 2010

American Soldiers – Tortured Duty & Tortured Mission

The Whys and Whats Becoming Harder to Answer?

Families that honor military service are spread all across this nation.  I grew up in one. Even as a teenager in the sixties, I remember knowing that freedom wasn’t free.  My father had served in Patton’s 3rd Army, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and served as a guard at the Nuremberg War Trials. How could I not know the price of freedom? WWII, now that was a just war.  Everyone knew it.  Everyone knew the war had to be won at all costs because failure clearly meant tyranny and death for an entire people, the Jewish people. Everyone knew, even the media knew the Whys and Whats.  Why they were fighting? What they were fighting for? They knew the cost of winning and losing! And,  victory wasn’t a dirty word.

However, my brother and I served in the United States Navy during a time in America’s history dominated by numbing callousness, selfishness, and indifference.  The loss of the Vietnam War brought about by the media and endless protests of duplicitous, naïve dreamers and schemers; the festering pain of Watergate continuously exploited by politicians in D.C., the good but lackluster caretaker President Ford portrayed as a bumbling stumbling fool on Saturday Night Live, the My Lai massacre and Lt. Calley’s conviction not quite distant enough to avoid its stench, and a war/corruption weary people’s vote for change promised by Jimmy Carter all marked this period.  Amazingly, like today, Carter’s change didn’t live up to expectations. Instead it brought gas lines, high inflation, 20+ percent interest rates and high unemployment – despair.

And the military was not spared in the mid 70’s. My awareness was that Carter was always attacking their budgets, minimizing the Soviet/communist threat, and interfering with matters that should have been left with the military, like his pardon of draft dodgers. Like closing GITMO, that action was certainly more of an appeasement to the far left than anything else. Democrats have been courting them for a long time.

Not unlike today’s media, the 70’s media reported much of their “news” in ways that portrayed the military, its leadership and contracting in the worst possible light. At the time, having credibility, it did appear as though reporters were merely following “the story” where it led. You know, paying homage to the type of Journalism that revealed the dirt in Watergate.  But, considering the corruption of today’s media, I’m probably being too kind. The price of every screw, hammer and ladder was held up as symbols of systemic corruption. And just like today, the broad-brush criticism and vilification drifted through the ranks to land on the individual soldier.

The cloud of post Vietnam warmonger shame continued staining the uniform in the minds of many Americans. The 70’s media and Jane Fonda had done a good job of mixing up the good and bad guys, buying time for the Vietcong. I suppose they weren’t comfortable with the concept of winning either. Thankfully though, Carter’s dreadful economy and gas lines were overwhelming and required most of the media’s attention.   The vast majority of those who did love the military were tired and let down by Nixon; and those who had been in the streets had their guy in Oval Office. So almost everyone seemed to be trying to turn the page. And with that turn of the page, the American soldier seemed to be all but forgotten.  The soldier’s duty to protect and defend remained but the camera’s glare was gone. That’s my memory anyway.

Carter’s negative effect on military morale and cohesion was palpable. The lack of any real resolve or credibility was clearly visible.  His handling of the Iranian Revolution and the rise of the Ayatollah Khomeini were abysmal.  It was weird, we were training Iranian pilots at Naval Air Memphis in 75 – a couple of wrong moves by a weak President and poof, 52 Americans were being held hostage for over a year.

The loss in Vietnam, Watergate, protests in the streets, President Ford, President Carter, hard ball politics and a deepening economic crisis were conspiring against the military. We were not immune to the tumult.  It was like a powerful magnet kept our compass spinning.  Drugs seemed to be everywhere in the military and military discipline a nearly foreign concept.  To be fair, after Vietnam, many military officers were not that gun ho. (I suppose some had begun to believe that Vietnam was an un-winnable shameful mistake – maybe some felt that everyone should be forgiven their part- including draft dodgers – some were just tired of it and decompression, down time was what the American soldier needed. Who knows?)

To illustrate how bad it was – in my squadron (I was an In-Flight Electronics Tech), when one of our P-3’s was scheduled to be washed, it was not unheard of for the wash crew leader to provide a few lines of cocaine to speed up both the process and the morale.   Officers seemed willing to see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.  We were lucky no one ever got hurt. (Remind anyone of the PC military leadership today?)

Come to think of it, the “cold war” with the USSR (which was fairly hot then) was probably one of the main forces that held together our sense of “duty” and “responsibility” during the Carter years.  The soldier’s duty to protect and defend always remains.  But at any given time, the military is more – or less capable and the junior soldier accepts it as he or she finds it. What choice do they have? (I joined when I came of age and was expecting to find the military my older brothers served in.  But – it was very different.)

It was a perfect storm that had brought us Carter Presidency.  And with it’s battered and bruised image, the United States military seemed to have a hell of time riding out that storm until President Reagan could put his hands to the reigns. Reagan’s zero-tolerance drug testing came along after I got out and things started turning around rather quickly according to my brother.  I believe the foundation that President Reagan built (or rebuilt) continues to serve soldiers today and will not be easily surrendered by the military leadership.

Well, hopefully it won’t.

It’s one of my regrets concerning my military service that Ronald Reagan was not yet President.  If evil were there, Reagan would have seen, heard, spoke about & done something about it. He didn’t close his eyes and hope evil would go away.  I checked a dozen or so years ago with another In-Flight tech I served with about some of the guys (friends) in our electronic shop and learned that 3 had done some jail/prison time and 1 had gone through rehab.  Problems usually don’t just go away.

As a young enlisted man at that time, I went with the flow because…because I was a kid, had never been out of the country, military was not my career and I didn’t know shit from shinola.  The military and the flow of the military felt much bigger than I was. But, I loved the mission and flying was where I wanted to be. Who knows, if Reagan had been there, I might have retired from the Navy.

See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil is not a command structure that serves the military or the individual soldier well.  Neither is going with the flow.

But it’s the military leadership, the career guys and gals, who have a shot at controlling or changing the flow. Yes, sometimes they fail, but it’s their job to address the issues. It’s especially egregious when they, like politicians, just won’t see or acknowledge that something is becoming a problem – when they don’t want to get ‘their’ hands dirty or risk jeopardizing ‘their’ career paths.  Two words – Ft. Hood.

And so I come to write this conflicted accolade to today’s American Soldier.

Tracking submarines, keeping tabs on ships, flying cover missions, no matter the whether, joint exercises, injuries and casualties, doing the mission, doing my duty were what kept me most grounded in the military.  It answered the Whys and Whats for me.  It was when politics, drugs, alcohol and all the BS disappeared and one knew Why they were serving, What they were protecting and how much it could cost.  I knew, understood and believed down deep that I was protecting freedom, the Constitution and my family.  As corny as that may sound, it made it worth doing – no matter how flawed.

Soldiers serving in the first few years after 9/11 must have had an incredible sense of the Whys and Whats that carried them through each and every day.

In the 70’s, war weariness, drugs, alcohol, lack of strong leadership, lack of discipline, being made to feel like polar opposites of the culture promoted by the media, and a general lack of encouragement from a tired American public were as great a threat to our concepts of duty, cohesion, sacrifice, morale and the mission as was the U.S.S.R and communism.  I’m sure these same factors give al qaeda, the taliban, and other Islamic terrorists cause for hope.

Of course, we had politicians undermining the military for their own advantage and a biased media.  But from my perspective, the corruption of politicians and the media in the 70’s – pale to what the military encounters today.  It has seemed that for the past half dozen years, the far left  and the media have been actively trying to bring about the defeat of the American military by taking political correctness to the extreme, urging untenable rules of engagement and intentionally mixing up the good & bad guys for political/ideological gain. And yet, our military continued doing an amazing job defending freedom around the world.

And of course, we had politicians who would have undermined the American economics system to replace it with a bigger nanny state. Democrats did control Congress during President Ford’s term and during President Carter’s disastrous four years. They did screw things up but they didn’t do it in a manner that couldn’t be undone. But they were nowhere near as bad as today’s leftist/Marxist Democrats.

Today, we have Obama in the Oval Office and a Democratic controlled Congress (dominated by the radical left since 2006) and they are galloping as fast as they can towards creating a socialist system that would make Vladimir Ilyich Lenin proud. If you look past the rhetoric you easily see that they are attempting to create larger and larger voting blocks that are wholly dependent on the federal government, hands out, afraid to question anything, afraid to vote for anyone calling for personal responsibility. Having a nation of sheeple, like birds at a bird feeder, is not good for the country or our future. Look at the recent action Obama took diminishing our American sovereignty on Dec. 17. Constitution be damned.  Does anyone really think the Second Amendment is safe?

And yet, today’s military continues to do an amazing job defending freedom overseas.

I use the phrase “defending freedom overseas” instead of “around the world” because, as much as I love them, I’m not sure they are defending our freedoms at home.  I can’t really blame the enlisted soldier because when I was in the military, I didn’t have time to keep up with what politicians at home were attempting to do to us. I basically thought politicians were all self-serving pieces of crap and the voting process would weed them out.  Unfortunately, that’s not the case today. (The statement that politicians “were all self-serving pieces of crap” is still accurate, but the vote might not be able to undo the damage they are doing to our freedoms and the Constitution.)

And the military leadership continues to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and ignore “the flow” that’s becoming more and more turbulent.

(And the American soldier is expected to accept “the flow” as he or she finds it?)

It seems to me that today’s American Soldier now finds him or herself in the untenable position of having their oath, duty and mission tortured by Obama and the Congress. (It must be especially untenable for the soldier who joined because they thought they were protecting freedom and the Constitution.)

The mission – I think of this as each bomb dropped, bullet fired, enemy captured or killed, each military plan executed, each foot of ground captured and held, each training and standing up of local police and military to make it possible for our exit, taking reasonable measures to safeguard the innocent in the battle theatre and continually maintaining readiness in order to protect those of us at home.

The mission becomes tortured when political correctness runs amuck allowing terror attacks like in Ft. Hood, when rules of engagement make it more dangerous for our guys, when war plans and decisions are made by politicians for their own political reasons (closing GITMO, the trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in NY), failing to realize that sometimes terrorists deserve and receive fat lips from a Navy Seals during capture (PC amuck), persecuting the CIA for being a little rough on terrorists when the information they are seeking could save lives, when winning and neutralizing the enemy is not the objective, etc., etc., etc.

This is when it becomes hard to answer Whats and Whys.  What the hell are we doing fighting like this? What is this doing to keep my family and their freedoms safe?  What will happen when some politician pulls us out? What will keep us from having to come back?  What can I do to make it right? Why won’t they let us win?

It must be hard to go with the flow under such circumstances, hard to keep morale high and harder to think about signing up for more.

The duty – I think of this as the soldier doing his or her best to live up to the oath they took when they enlisted.  Basically the duty is to support, protect and defend the Constitution and the freedoms/protections flowing from it to each and every citizen.

The Oath of Enlistment:

…I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God….

Even though Obama, Pelosi and Reid would prefer that our American soldiers protect and defend some socialist version of the Constitution drafted in conference without consulting the People or States (like healthcare), thankfully that is not the case.  Not yet anyway.

Hopefully every soldier read and understood the Constitution before they put on the uniform because it is an awesome responsibility.

A soldier’s duty and the Oath become tortured when the rights of terrorists are elevated (created out of thin air) and are put above the safety of the American soldier, when Obama diminishes our American sovereignty, when Obama’s Attorney General’s  personal vendetta against President Bush and the CIA appears to influence his decisions to try the 9/11 mastermind in NYC and to bring other enemy combatants to the US for show trials, and when Obama and Eric Holder appear more interested in prosecuting a war against the CIA to appease the far left instead of against Islamic terrorists, when military officers put political correctness above their duty to protect soldiers under their command (Ft. Hood), when military officers and politicians choose to ignore critical parts of Constitution because it would bring trouble to them (they may be called names).

All of these illustrate situations where officers up the chain of command, including the “Commander In Chief”, appear ready to shirk their duty to the Constitution and America Soldiers under their command so they can protect their relatively trivial career ambitions and/or pursue their personal political agendas.

This is when it becomes hard to answer the Whats and Whys.  What does support and defend the Constitution mean?  Who are the enemies of the United States?  Why am I defending something that seems optional for my superior officers?   What is really important to the chain of command – advancement, career or the Oath? Who are the Oathkeepers? Why should I obey my superior officers when they choose to ignore parts of the Constitution? What’s the point? What am I doing that protects the Constitution and the Freedoms of my family and friends?

For me and millions of other Americans, the one provision of the Constitution that has been most blatantly ignored by Command – and has followed/plagued Obama throughout his time in the Oval Office, cost him “at least $1.7 million” keeping his records hidden, and seriously calls into question whether he can legally act as Commander In Chief and issue any “lawful orders” is Article II, Section 1.

Article II, Section 1 – …“No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President”…

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil is not a command structure that serves the military or the individual soldier well.

The “natural born citizen” issue will not go away and I’m sure it’s on the minds of many in the military; it affects morale, re-enlistment decisions, and how many traditional military supporters view the institution.  It’s similar to how the epidemic of drug use in the 70’s military effected civilians & soldiers who knew about the problem and cared about what it said about the institution.

When I served, the military had a disease that needed to be cleaned up before the uniform could shine in all its glory.

Our military has a disease that can only be healed by thoroughly investigating the allegations against Obama and taking the appropriate actions.  Shine the light on all his records. If the answer turns out that Obama is in fact a natural born citizen, then that’s great – the disease will be cured.

But having the Joint Chiefs, General Petraeus, General Stanley McChrystal and the Judge Advocate General’s Corp continue seeing no evil, hearing no evil, and speaking no evil is not acceptable.  It disrespects everyone who ever wore the uniform.  America and its citizens can handle the truth!

To the American Soldier – Thank you for your service and sacrifices for this country.

I am truly sorry to be in the position of having to speak so bluntly about an institution that I love.

Constantly Ignored by Congress, Americans Left Little Choice but to Shut Washington, D.C. Down!

December 23, 2009

Constantly Ignored by Congress, Americans Left Little Choice but to Shut Washington, D.C. Down!

(I would like to suggest a date – the day of the 2010 State of the Union Address)

Today I was listening to Rush Limbaugh’s radio program when one of his listeners shared an interesting idea that got my attention.  The listener was a small business owner, 30 years in business, who was fed up with Congress not listening to the wishes of the American People.  He was calling for all small business owners to fire half of their employees (for a few weeks?) and the resulting loss of tax withholdings and concurrent demands for unemployment benefits, food stamps, etc. by the fired workers would overwhelm the system.

Rush immediately recognized that this idea was actually the same idea that Obama and the left are employing, the Cloward-Piven strategy

…”The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change….”

It is an interesting concept of turning a wholly leftist/fascist strategy for radical change back on the instigators.  Naturally, the caller understood that his idea would involve substantial “short-term pain for long-term gain” and would require a lot of employers taking part to be effective.

What’s obvious is that Rush’s caller was basically expressing the extreme frustration that millions of Americans are feeling right now. How can ordinary citizens get the attention of Congress when they are taking the phone off the hook and locking their doors?

Even though it’s probably not ripe today, the Rush caller idea is simple, powerful, and definitely would get Washington and the media’s attention.  However, I believe the pain to the “innocent” temporarily unemployed would be too much.  It might be something to try next year during hunting season for hunters looking for some time to hunt and draw a check; or when school’s out for summer so they can go on family vacation.  By summer, prior to the 2010 elections, both the to be laid off employees and millions of stressed employers could be eager to take part in such an act of political disobedience.  I’m ready now but later might be better.

So what can be done now to get the attention of Obama, Reid, Pelosi and Congress?  What if for the days before and the night of the next Presidential State of the Union at the end of January another “Tea Party”/strike is organized to descend on Washington, D. C.?  Trucks, RV’s, Cars, Motorcycles, Bikes, Strollers, Wheel Chairs, Veterans, Law Enforcement, Firefighters, 9/11 Families, Navy Seals’ families, College Students, High School Students, Elementary School Students, Lawyers, Judges, former AARP members, Ordinary Americans carrying bull-horns, cowbells, bag pipes, drums, and every other manner of noise making device imaginable coming to Congress to be HEARD!  Wow!

Maybe, everyone could ask his or her Congressional Representative to boycott the 2010 State of the Union Address. (Are you there Representatives Bachmann and Wilson?)

Even though previous D.C. Tea Party demonstrations have had over a million participants, the media have found ways to ignore/ridicule/minimize them.  What if 2 or 3 million Americans came to Congress to be heard – could the media ignore that?  I don’t think so!  What if the sound could be heard when Obama begins spinning his lies and misrepresentations – could the media ignore that?  I don’t think so!  What if traffic is tied up for days – could the media ignore that? I don’t think so!

Americans are upset and frustrated because they are not being listened to by Obama or the Congress.  If fact even Blue Dog Democrats are frustrated.  The level of frustration must be extremely high to cause a Freshman Democratic Representative from Alabama, Parker Griffith, to switch parties today.

Why are they so upset and frustrated?  Let me count the ways:

Obama and Eric Holder are planning to have 9/11 mastermind, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s trial in NYC!  Polls show that 59% of Americans are opposed to this travesty.  Congress has power to prevent it but again they choose not to listen the American people.

Obama is closing GITMO and bringing the terrorists to Illinois (within 20 miles of a nuclear power plant).  When you ask Americans you find that 64% are opposed to bringing GITMO terrorists to America.  Is Obama or Congress listening? No.

Three Navy Seals are being prosecuted for allegedly giving Islamic terrorist, Ahmed Hashim Abed, a fat lip during his capture.  Abed was the mastermind of the brutal attack in Falluja in 2004 where 4 Blackwater security contractors were hung on a bridge and burned.  Where is Obama and Congress?  AWOL.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff are ignoring the very real possibility that Obama is not a “natural born citizen” and is therefore not eligible to serve as President or Commander in Chief.  Are they listening? No.  Is Congress listening? No.  All that is happening is that Obama has/is spending over 2 million dollars trying to keep his school records, long form birth certificate, bar application, college papers, etc. hidden.

Americans opposed to Obamacare are being ignored by Congress. The latest Quinnipiac poll show that “53 percent of voters disapprove of plans to make over the health-care system, with 36 percent in support.” Will Congress listen? No.

Shockingly, Reid and Pelosi’s Democrats are putting measures in the Healthcare legislation that tries to make parts of it not subject to repeal.  How’s that for Congress not listening!

No matter what you believe about abortion, the vast majority of Americans (72%) recognize that it is wrong to force taxpayer who believe abortion is wrong to fund abortions.  Will Congress listen? No.

The majority of American small business owners (66 against/24 for) and the public (53 against/37 for) are against Cap and Trade legislation. Is the Congress listening? No.

Americans, who keep their own budgets balanced, expect Obama and Congress to keep America’s budgets balanced!  Do they listen? No.

And there’s Inspector General Walpin’s firing, Obama bowing to every world leader he can find, Obama photo ops with our returning war dead, ACORN, SEIU, Larry Sinclair, attacks of FOX, Obama’s boot licking media, Cambridge Police “acted stupid”, coming attacks on the Second Amendment, not showing proper respect when our soldiers were slaughtered by a terrorist at Ft. Hood, etc., etc., etc.  It never ends.

Americans have been trying hard to have their voices heard vis-à-vis Tea Parties nationwide.  Were they heard? No.  They were ridiculed and vilified by Obama, Gibbs, Pelosi, many Members of Congress and the mainstream media.

Everyday, more Americans are waking up.

It is time to start saying ENOUGH a little more loudly.

A Wink and Nod to Torture – Spain – Obama – Misdirection – Transnationalism – The BOPAC Report

May 7, 2009

The BOPAC Report:

A Wink & Nod to Torture –

Will Spain Genuflect to Obama’s Misdirection?

Recently, I wrote an article concerning the Democratic left’s (Obama & Harold Koh) misguided infatuation with transnationalism, its undermining of American sovereignty and how transnationalism vis-à-vis unforeseen international actions/prejudices could jeopardize Obama’s precarious hold on the Presidency.   I basically warned Mr. Obama that he should be careful what he wished for because he might just get it. Now, the transnational view from the Oval Office reveals more thunder clouds gathering several hundred miles behind the Azores in Spain.

In the Obama Transnational Irony, I recounted…a news article that indicated that “Criminal proceedings have begun in Spain against six senior officials in the Bush administration for the use of torture against detainees in Guantánamo Bay. “  The action appears to be based in part on the fact that the United States is a signatory to the 1984 UN Convention against Torture that requires states to investigate allegations of torture committed on their territory or by their nationals, or extradite them to stand trial elsewhere.  The argument goes that because these six officials were giving critical advice to President Bush, without which “it would have been impossible to structure a legal framework that supported what happened [in Guantánamo]“, they can be held criminally liable.

If Spain does issue arrest warrants for Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, Douglas Feith, William Haynes, John Yoo or Jay Bybee and subsequently seeks extradition, Obama is going to be put in a fairly difficult position.

…If Obama orders or causes a real criminal investigation of these individuals or extradition, surely he will be opening himself up to Dr. Orly Taitz’s eligibility dragon raising its head and talons coming to the aid of these defendants.  Dr. Orly Taitz is one of a number of attorneys across the country who have brought over 50 lawsuits challenging Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States….

If Obama is in fact not eligible to serve, he cannot legally order extradition and his appointment of Mr. Holder would also be invalid. To date no judge has allowed an evidentiary hearing on the merits of the basic allegation that Obama is not a “natural born citizen” under the Constitution.  However, given that the rights of the criminally accused to be heard, confront their accusers and to due process are paramount in American Jurisprudence that might have to change.

A day or two after writing the Obama Transnational Irony, it began to look like Obama had managed, either through luck or some sort of backroom wheeling and dealing, to avoid the possibility that his probable lack of eligibility to serve as President of the United States would be raised as a defense in a criminal proceeding.  The Attorney General of Spain was recommending that matter be dropped.

However, this week it appears that Spain is continuing on its crusade against anything – anywhere that has even a hint of coerciveness to it, regardless of the views of their Attorney General.  It seems Spain might be suffering from some sort of internalized guilt from their history during the Spanish Inquisition and under Francisco Franco’s rule; and now, they’re assuming the role of Don Quixote de la Mancha.  In my opinion, Don Quixote had a much better grasp of reality and dangers faced in the world than the modern day Spanish judges, who appear only to pander to public opinion of ostridges.   One Spanish judge has recently made a procedurally required inquiry to U.S. authorities seeking to find out if their targets were currently the subjects of judicial inquiry.  A different Spanish judge has started another probe into torture allegations at Gitmo and a third is asking to interrogate eight Chinese officials concerning deaths and/or disappearance of hundreds/thousands of Tibetans.   (I’m only going to address the torture aspect involving Americans.)

Earlier, I had suggested a few options available to Mr. Obama to try to avoid Spain’s pesky transnational interference with the limits of what advisors to the President should be allowed to proffer.  Obama’s Administration has added a clever twist one of these.

…He will need to either start a criminal investigation here in the United States or deal with an extradition request from Spain.   It might be possible for him, with a wink and a nod, to start an investigation and conclude the accused were simply giving advice that every President needs to govern and end it; or he might start an investigation and drag it out until he’s out of office.  I believe the wink and nod would have to be there for Obama to pull that off….

Obama has been in the uncomfortable position of having to placate his mostly irrational Democratic left, trying to keep some level of CIA intelligence coming in from those who do the interrogating, and trying to show Spain that he is handling the matter (providing political cover) so they will drop their investigations.

First, Obama tried to float the let’s just move on argument that it would serve no purpose to pursue criminally members of the Bush Administration. We want to look forward and not back. That blew a fuse with the far left. Moveon.org said move back and think again.

Then, in less than 24 hours, Obama came out and said that the CIA interrogators would not be pursued if they acted within the four corners of the interrogation documents.  But as for others in the Bush Administration, he would leave it up to Holder.  This sent a chill through the CIA and increases the likelihood that we will not be able to discover as many terrorist plots because we now have a gun shy CIA.  (In the Art of War, Sun Tzu expresses his deep awareness that foreknowledge is a critical factor for success in war and that foreknowledge cannot be elicited from spirits.  It comes from people.)

…Those in intelligence are “gong to become increasingly wary about doing dangerous things,” Lowenthal said. “They feel at the end of the day they won’t be covered. It’s not irreparable right now, but it’s problematic.”…

Now, Obama is allowing the release of many more troubling photographs and refusing to provide any memos/documentation showing how successful these interrogation techniques have been.  In fact, these interrogation techniques have provided critical information that prevented a 9/11 type attack in Los Angeles and another planned attack against the Brooklyn Bridge saving many lives.

Of course, Obama has given several speeches condemning torture, apologizing to the world, saying that Churchill never condoned “torture.”  However, he was totally mistaken.

And finally, we find out that Mr. Holder is not likely to prosecute these former Bush officials, but may try to get several of these individuals (Yoo & Bybee of California) disciplined by their respective Bar Associations.  Disbarment is in fact a very fairly sever punishment for an attorney or Judge.  Lucky for Mr. Gonzales, he is from Texas and Texans seem to use more “common sense” when balancing interrogation and preventing the possible deaths of thousands, if not millions, of Americans.  (This Justice Department inquiry may be released in the coming weeks.)

All of these self-serving actions put America’s security and her troops in greater danger by telegraphing to our enemies just how far we will go (allowing enemies to prepare against our interrogation attempts) and by casting a disparaging light on our military and CIA personnel (undermining moral and resolve). Obama epitomizes the President who looks at the issues of interrogation, “torture”, and war through the lens of one beholding to the people who got him elected.   To appease his supporters and cover his liabilities, Obama seems willing to do whatever he can as quickly as possible.

However, the group most culpable for endangering America’s security is the American media.  Their Bush hating war reporting during the last eight years has emboldened our enemies and caused a concurrent lack of resolve in the American people. The media’s gushing support for and failure to vet candidate Obama brought to power the most divisive and extreme person ever to sit in the Oval Office.  (Rezko, Ayers, Socialism, Larry Sinclair, ACORN, campaign funding issues and lack of “natural born citizen” status should have derailed Obama’s candidacy early on.)

Will America’s enemies respond positively to Obama’s apologies and showings of weakness?  I doubt it and the damage can’t be undone easily.

Will this last step of hoping bar discipline to allow Obama to once again sidestep answering the allegations that he is not a “natural born citizen”- and is therefore ineligible to hold the Office of the Presidency?  Maybe so, since Holder vis-à-vis Obama would not be involved. (Passing the buck to protect the golden goose?)

Will the self-righteous left be placated?  Seems unlikely to me.

However, the bigger question is – Will Spain be placated by this result and submissively genuflect to Obama because he’s basically one of them, a transnationalist, who has gotten himself into a pickle with this whole birth certificate/eligibility mess? It depends if Spanish judges, looking at Obama’s wink and nod of political cover, believe it is sufficient for them.

It’s probably appropriate to share my opinion/bias about war and interrogation.

I am strongly opposed to torture.

But-

With the exception of water-boarding being used only when “ABSOLUTELY” necessary, the interrogation techniques that were described in the memos that Obama released do not constitute “torture during war” if the individuals subjected were legitimately believed to have actionable intelligence that could prevent loss of life at the hands of terrorists and the methods were carefully monitored.  I realize that this is a broad harsh statement and arguments are always present concerning who is defining who a “terrorist” is, what a “legitimate belief” is, what “careful monitoring” is, and what our ethics are.

Interrogations are not pleasant and they certainly should bother everyone involved – the interrogator and the people interrogators are trying to protect.  Harsh interrogation must never become common place; but it must be recognized that under certain circumstances, circumstances where lives are at stake, we must have interrogators who can do what we and they hate.  (I do believe that if an interrogator truly enjoys the rough stuff, they need find some other way to serve.)

Rough techniques, much rougher than those described in the memos, have been used by almost all countries when lives are at stake.  I certainly believe that Obama would try to get CIA interrogators to utilize every technique if people he loved were in imminent danger.  However, considering the recent political actions of Obama regarding interrogation techniques and possible prosecutions, it is possible that interrogators would refuse out of fear Obama would send the Justice Department after them at some later date.

Interrogations are not nice and wars are horrific.  Wars are horrific so as to be avoided if at all possible. However, sometimes both are unavoidable.  It would be great if Obama could get information from terrorists with foot rubs and Jacuzzis; and fight wars with paint balls.  However, when fighting a determined adversary, the only thing such thinking will accomplish is defeat, loss of liberty and even greater loss of life.  We don’t live in a politically correct world and we can’t fight wars that are politically correct on one side and hope to remain free or even survive in the face of the Sharia world as envisioned by people such as the President of Iran.

There is a differentiation between the ethics we have when survival is at stake and those when we are at peace. There are basic survival instincts that shape and compromise our abilities to hold high and ideal ethics. There are also desperate situations that call upon individuals to bend society’s ethics for the moment, regretfully, but resolutely. If your children are hungry or seriously ill, the ethics of taking a loaf of bread that you can’t pay for pales in comparison.  Ethics are struggle. They are not black or white – in life or war.  (Unless you’re a politician or in the main stream media, then your ethics can seemingly go as far as you can get away with.) What would you parents do to keep your daughter from being forced to wear a burka? What would you parents do to keep your son from be forced to change his religion to suit Sharia law? What would you parents do to keep your children alive? Would you say to the interrogator please do what you need to do to stop this – I thank and forgive you?  The interrogators hopefully understand that your children are in jeopardy, that their lives, freedoms and futures are at stake.  Hopefully, with your forgiveness, their own, and their God’s – they will make it though the days remaining to them.

I do realize that there are some who genuinely believe that it is better to perish rather than lift a hand in anger or self defense, and they live that way. Are they walking unattached in this world, unattached to this world, unattached to country, unattached even unto themselves? Christ like? I don’t know. However, it seems that such a position takes a lot of courage and awareness.  I suspect their numbers are very few; and that for most who profess such belief, it is more or less a notion that has not been put to the test. Regarding the far, far left, it seems me that they are mainly dominated by self-righteous, intolerant, arrogant, America bashing elitists. One thing that’s for certain, America can’t count on them to protect our friends, family, freedoms or Constitution.

My thanks go to the United States Military and militaries of our allies.

Unless a person is one of the very few as described above, the following quote sums up my feelings on defense of family, freedom, America and her Constitution:

A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill

My fear is that one day many may come to believe that under Obama’s ideology and control, America has ceased to be something that is worth fighting for.  If the people who Janet Napolitano believes could be domestic terrorists won’t fight for America, who will? Barney Frank? Chris Dodd? Nancy Pelosi? Harry Reid? Chris Matthews? Katie Couric? ACORN? The extreme left? The Media? George Soros?

We are not there yet, but our rights and freedoms are being quickly eroded by the Obama Administration and Congress.  We need to organize and vote out people who are not fiscally responsible, vote out people who do not adhere to the Constitution, and vote out people who are more concerned with their own power than the people’s power.  We need to boycott companies like GM, Chrysler, Citigroup and others who are acting as parasites clinging to the nation’s teat.  We need to buy from companies like Ford who reject government control of business.

If America ever does become something, whose ideals and values are not worth fighting for, the only advice I can give is to sell your stock in Anheuser-Busch, iron your burkas and grow your beards because life is a changing – for the WORSE!

Obama & Media vs. “Thinking America”

August 8, 2008

Cult Obama & The Media

vs.

Center Left, Center,

Center Right, Right

“Thinking” America

America came together for a brief time after 9/11. What a good feeling that was during such a tragic time. I think most of America remains regretful that that feeling did not last. So what happened? Why didn’t it last? Well – it seems to me that the far left, with their hallowed mission to impose their view on America, realized that they needed to cool it until a situation arose that they could exploit. What was it? It wasn’t Afghanistan. The mood of America supported that action. Was it the invasion of Iraq? I don’t really remember it that way. I seem to recall the House and Senate speaking strongly in unison for President Bush’s action. I remember hearing over and over, from almost everyone that WMDs existed and action was required; further, most were very worried that if too much time elapsed before invading, Saddam Hussein would move the weapons to Syria. (Surprisingly, just a week or so ago, I read a news article that quoted the former head of Iraq’s post invasion prison system as saying numerous prisoners had told him that that was what had happened.) So what was it?

Looking back now, it seems that the far left’s opening was provided by four very unfortunate decisions which were made and/or carried out after the Iraq invasion; and the emerging reality that no WMDs were being found. The decisions of the Bush Administration and Pentagon regarding how many boots to keep on the ground post invasion and the decision to cull the Ba’ath from the Iraqi military created fertile soil from which to grow an insurgency. The military’s ineffective post invasion planning regarding the need to establish a functioning government created conditions of lawlessness that quickly discouraged the Iraqi people. Lastly, President Bush landing on the aircraft carrier to a waiting “Mission Accomplished” banner created the visual that could keep on giving, and giving, and giving.

So the opening appeared and the far left undertook to exploit the situation to the best of their ability. The media, appearing to have harbored a firm disapproval of President Bush even before his first days in office, found itself in the position that if they played their cards right the vilification process could begin in earnest. First they needed to sell the public on the idea that everything about the Iraq war was a failure. Somehow, the media decided that they would present as little positive news from Iraq as they could get away with. The far left and the media were a match born of resentment of someone who they both considered beneath themselves. The media eagerly embraced their new found role of leadership. The rule was the art of leadership consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention. President Bush and his administration is that adversary. The rhetoric of no WMD, cowboy diplomacy, Rumsfeld, we were misled, the plan was flawed, humvees, IEDs, unjust war, our losses, started as whispers and slowly became a chorus shaping the public imagination. The broad masses of a population are more amenable to the appeal of rhetoric than to any other force. Then Katrina occurred and gasoline was thrown on the fire.

I believe the media, the far left, and the Democratic leadership saw the path to their return to power was by the defeat of President Bush in Iraq. The fact that a defeat of President Bush would also mean a devastating defeat for our military and possible genocide in Iraq was of little consequence. As soon as by one’s own propaganda even a glimpse of right on the other side is admitted, the cause for doubting one’s own right is laid. That is why there was such opposition to “the surge”, no doubt could be entertained that victory was a possibility. Sen. Reid even said the war in Iraq is lost and the media shook their heads in unison.

The American people were being worn down by the media and the Democratic leadership’s constant barrage of negative news and analysis about Iraq. The portrayal of Katrina as solely a function of the Bush administration’s incompetence worked almost flawlessly. They were fully aware of the adage that if you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed. By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda, one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise. The public was never forcefully reminded by the media that we had not been attacked since 9/11, that numerous terrorist attempts had been thwarted, that the economy was recovering from the recession that President Bush inherited and which was further pounded by Afghanistan and Iraq. The somewhat blue sky of reality was being painted with a brush of doom and gloom on a daily basis. It still is.

Fast forward to 2005-2006 and we see what the media did to put a spotlight on all of the shortcomings of some members of the Republicans in Congress. While at the same time, they downplayed the same or worse offenses committed by Democrats. The media is fully aware that the general public is too busy to investigate the truth for themselves and must rely on them for information. The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category. With today’s 24 hour news cycle they had more than enough ability to shape the news to fit their own narrative. The media made every attempt to turn every Republican into President Bush. Entertainers such as John Stewart, the news source for many younger Americans, joined in with humor and slick productions. Most of Hollywood also joined in to support the message. I must admit, they have been very successful.

Evidence today, Obama and the Democratic leadership are not really running against Sen. McCain, they are running against the mosaic painted about President Bush. Do you really think it is fair, or is it calculated, to use rhetoric such as McSame and McBush? (I suppose it is also reasonable to point out the second front with this tactic: the vilification and identification of opponents with “big oil.”)

Consider for a moment how the press coverage differed for the Republicans, Mark Foley and Larry Craig, when compared to the coverage of Democrats. A major Presidential candidate, John Edwards, is alleged to have a love child with a former staffer and was caught by the Enquirer visiting late her late at night – the media has done all that it can to quash or ignore this story. Sen. Obama is alleged to have used cocaine and engaged in gay sex with Larry Sinclair – the media has refused to report or investigate this story. Rep. W. Jefferson caught with $80,000 dollars in his freezer – the media has downplayed and tried to move on.

Shortly after the Democrats took control of the House and Senate, the Presidential race began in earnest. The efforts of the Democrats and the media to facilitate our defeat in Iraq continued, with the polls still reflecting a loss of public support for the war, that (loss of support) the media had created. There are those who argue that the public’s support was so easily swayed because the public had not been asked to sacrifice for this endeavor. There was no real public ownership of the war. The military and their families were basically the only ones really impacted by the violence of war; and they have always been in favor of staying until the job was done. It seems that the public view was swayed partly because many just wanted to get the negative images out of their living rooms. (It is interesting to note that the public now believes that we are winning in Iraq and the numbers are increasing for those who say we should stay until the job is done.)

Senator Barrack Obama threw his hat into the ring. The media had identified a foe for blame and painted a world of gloom and despair that had infected most of America. Obama came with his bumper sticker chants of Hope, Change, Change We Can Believe In, let’s move away from the Old Politics. The population was ripe and a movement started. The movement grew and the words resonated. Finally, the media started believing that history could be made, the Clintons defeated, and they could be a part of making it happen. They too got on board. All great movements are popular movements. They are the volcanic eruptions of human passions and emotions, stirred into activity by the ruthless Goddess of Distress or by the torch of the spoken word cast into the midst of the people.

Even though the world is very dangerous today and our economic reality is fraught with vulnerabilities and complications, many appear willing to suspend their reason to be engulfed by the emotion of Obama’s message. I believe. When Obama used emotion for the many and reserved reason for the few an interesting phenomenon started to develop – a sense of faith began to grow within Obama’s supporters. Words built bridges into unexplored regions, regions where hope in a seemingly hopeless world arises. And remember this: he alone, who owns the youth, gains the future. Many of Obama’s supporters are the young; and they have not experienced many real hardships through their short lives and many have not been taught the sacrifices that are necessary to keep our freedoms. The youth have mainly the images from the television; and messages of distress and vilification coming from all corners that shape their view of the world. The world sucks because of America, Bush and Republicans. Unfortunately, the great mass of people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one.

History has shown over and over that faith in one person can portend the establishment of the cult mentality – just as Jim Jones had the faith of his followers so does Obama. As a result, main stream America is learning that it is always more difficult to fight against faith than against knowledge. My charge is that Senator Obama has been irresponsibly held up as the one, the messiah. The media, which have supported this illusion by not reporting early on about the many legitimate issues which surround Obama, are responsible. They, the media, allowed the blind faith to set in. When support turns into faith, reason goes out the window; and now, I’m not sure if Obama’s hard core supporters would bat an eye at anything that could be revealed. However, there are those Obama supporters who have backed him for various other reasons such as party identity or that it just feels good to be part of history, etc.; but who have not put their thinking to bed.

Senator Obama and the media know that propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach. Who’s not for Hope, Change We Can Believe In, or Peace? The use of only one or two simple words is to convey meaning is why the bumper stickers work so well. Everyone can have their own personal understanding of the words without actually knowing the details of Senator Obama’s policies and beliefs, or his planned change in direction of this country towards socialism. He’s for Hope, Change and No Old Politics. Once the faith is firmly established in his followers, facts don’t matter and Obama is able to brush aside most criticism as either old politics or racism.

However, we are now beginning to see a shift occur which is being reflected in the polls. It seems as though the ones who have not become fully infected by “faith” in a flawed politician are starting to reassess their decisions and priorities. This may be occurring because the media has overplayed its hand so much that everyone can see the bias. The media’s bias is being shown brightly by their lack of coverage of the John Edwards scandal and their treatment of Senator McCain. The three news anchors going with Obama to Europe and at the same time barely covering Sen. McCain’s trips overseas violates all sense of fairness. The tingling running up the leg of the host of a prominent media person when Obama speaks boggles the mind.

As Edward R. Murrow wisely stated:

To be persuasive we must be believable; to be believable we must be credible; credible we must be truthful.”

Today’s media is neither truthful nor credible.

Thankfully the Center Left, the Center Right, the Right, and the Center of “Thinking” Americans are waking up and beginning to consider this election as it should be – on the basis of who is the best candidate for America (Not for Europe).

For point of reference, the dark red text in the body of this article are quotes of Germany’s Adolf Hitler. It just illustrates that the art of propaganda is well known around the world and throughout history. However, I do agree with following quote of Hitler – if the U.S. media is going to be allowed to dictate the outcome of this election:

Sooner will a camel pass through a needle’s eye than a great man be “discovered” by an election.
Adolf Hitler
