As A Veteran My Heart Sinks
As a Veteran, my heart sinks every time I see this photo and think that this man may become President of the United States and be in charge of our military. I endured the Jimmy Carter years while serving in the military. I hope that we will not go through that again; especially, when the U.S. faces so many dangers in the next decade.
Then I remind myself of this.

Patriotism is something you do. not something you say you can be or have been. It is defined in your actions, and your actions alone.
Saying the pledge “with more meaning” or “hand over heart” or “louder than the next guy” means absolutely nothing. Any brainless moron can wave a flag.
Questioning someones “patriotic intent” stinks of that great senator from Wisconsin, Joe McCarthy. You a pinko, boy?

Actually symbols do mean something. I’m working on a post now that will hopefully make that clear.
